Tutorial Tuesday: Utensil Holder

I needed a better way to store all of my spatulas and other utensils. I don't have the biggest drawers and the ladles always seemed to get stuck. Plus, my one year loves to pull everything out of my drawers. So I decided to decorate a big jar that someone gave me. I used fabric because it is more flexible and I knew I could fit around the weird shape of the jar.

Here's what I did:
1) Selected and cut the fabric

2) Put Mod Podge all around the jar and apply the fabric

3)I added ribbon to separate the colors and I wrapped twine around the mouth of the jar and some brads at the bottom.

4) Add your utensils and that's it!
It is so nice to have this on my counter because now I can actually find what I am looking for!

  10. That is such a cute idea. I actually have a glass jar on my counter holding all of my utensils right now. I'm definitely going to have to wrap that thing in fabric.

  18. I love it! Right now mine are in a curvy blue vase and for the most part it works other than the fact that I have trouble fitting in all the utensils since it has a curved mid section that is smaller then the top and bottom. I will be changing soon with some of my coffeehouse themed fabric and a large mouthed mason jar or similar. Thank you for the inspiration. Happy Holidays!!!
