Tutorial Tuesday: Destressed Table

As I was going to garage sales last week, I came across this little table. I loved the look of it, all of it except the green. You know how much I love green, but this was a little much, even for me. So I decided to paint it.

Before

After
This is how I did it
1) I sanded, primed and painted the table white
2) Since I was distressing it but really didn't want green to show, I painted random places a dark brown. I did areas that could easier get scratched or the paint chip off. Mostly corners and sides
3) To add to the distress look, I then took a hammer and nail and put holes in it.
4) I then sanded the whole thing, especially the sides and corners. I may even sand it a little bit more.
Now all I have to do is fill the basket and bowl with something cute!
