Tutorial Tuesday: Personalize Casserole Dish

With Christmas coming up, I thought that this would be a perfect gift, a personalized casserole dish. Everyone goes to some kind of potluck dinner and we all have had problems of getting our dishes back. So here is a way to personalize it so you don't have that problem anymore!

I actually made this for my mom. She already has everything that she wants and has no more room for pictures or decorations in her house, so I thought that this would be a very practical gift for her!

This is what you'll need
- glass casserole dish (any size)
-contact paper
-gloves
-sponge brush

This is how I made it
1) I used my Cricut to cut out the letters on a 6x12 inch piece of contact paper. You can also use a craft knife to cut out your letters. Make sure that you cut your letter in the side that says contact paper

This is what it looks like once the letters are cut out.

I made it so you can read the name with the casserole is facing up, but if you want to do it so you can read the name from the bottom, then cut on the other side of the contact paper.

2) Place your contact paper on the casserole dish, without taking off the backing.

This is for you to kinda see where you want to place the paper. I would even maybe tape a piece of tape to make where you want the paper to begin. I didn't do that and mine it is a little off center

3) Now start to take off the back of the contact paper.

I took off a little bit and then pressed it onto the casserole dish. I slowly continued to take it off while pushing the paper down.

4) Make sure to get all of the air bubbles out, especially around the edges of the letters. If you have letters that have holes, make sure to add those also.

5) Using your glass etching cream and sponge brush, apply it onto the contact paper. Make sure to wear gloves.

You will want to put a generous amount on there. Start by going up and down and then from side to side.

6) Allow to sit on there for 5 minutes.
-Here's a tip, when it's done sitting you can put the excess cream back into the bottle and use it again

7) Rinse the cream off with tap water and peel off contact paper

8) Wash with window cleaner and dry

And just like that, you have your own personalize dish!

Like what you see? Then follow along!

I got to try the lip balm. I just fell in love with it! It just glides on and stays on. Now that winter is coming, so are those chapped and dry lips and this is a great product to keep them moist!

I have been using the hair and scalp shampoo bar in addition to my normal shampoo and conditioner for 3 weeks now and absolutely love it!! Turkey Paver

I am now off of maternity leave. First off, I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that helped me out and did a tutorial for me. There were a ton of great ideas, you all are so talented.

November has just flown by. The past couple weeks, my focus has been on this cute little girl!
Because of my new little girl and the craziness of having four kids, I wasn't able to do as many Thanksgiving crafts that I wanted to. I was able to do one real quick last week, so I thought that I would share it with you all. I just took a paver and made it into a turkey! I have it outside with my pumpkin one!
I used foam for the beak and the feathers and some buttons for the eyes.

More heat transfer shirts

Here are a couple more shirts that I made for my older boys.

To make them, I used Silhouette heat transfer paper, that I'm giving away here.
To make the soccer balls, I printed out some clip art off the computer and then cut it out of the heat transfer paper with scissors.
The back was done with my Cricut
**Both of these shirts have gone through both the washer and dryer, on normal setting and still look great**

Remember to enter my Silhouette giveaway, ends 11/10!

Heat Transfer Tutorial and GIVEAWAY!! (closed)

I was recently contacted to do a review of some products that Silhouette has to offer.

I'm always up for trying out new products and seeing what is out there!! So I thought that I would give a little tutorial of a shirt that I was able to make with their heat transfer paper.

Don't be fooled by the cuteness of my boy, there's a reason for saying on his shirt! :D

This is how I made it:
1) Using sure cuts a lot and my Cricut, I set up the words for the shirt. Make sure that you mirror the words horizontally. I then cut out the letters on the heat transfer paper, making sure that the shiny side was facing down

2) I then took a blank shirt
3) I started placing the letters and arranging them the way that I wanted.
4) Here they are all placed, but not ironed on yet
5) I then placed a piece of fabric over the letters and ironed it for about 60 seconds. If the clear plastic doesn't come off of it, you can iron it a little bit longer
6) Peel off the clear plastic
and just like that you have an awesome shirt!

**This shirt has gone through both the washer and dryer, on normal setting and still look great**

I was very impressed with how easy this paper was to use. It was very easy to cut and use. It was very simple and quick. It ironed on very well and seems to be doing just fine. I liked it so much that I have plans to make many more things!

Like what you see and are thinking to yourself, "I want some of that!"? Well today is your lucky day because one lucky reader will get a $50 package from Silhoutte!!
