In the past two months, I have really been venturing out and trying new things. Mostly girlie things. I have been really liking having flowers in my hair, so I thought why not try a head band :)
This is how I made it:
1) I took a 2"x44" strip. I left the middle 11" 2 inches wide and then cut down the outside 1" wide
2) Using brown thread (I wanted it to show) I sewed all along the edge
3) For the flower, I took a 1"x 30" strip of fabric and sewed it down the middle
4) I pulled the thread tight and made a ruffle
5) I pinned the ruffle into a circle (it's supposed to look messy)
6) I then pinned some leaves onto it
7) I sewed the leaves and flower on. Because I was going for a messy look, I just sewed anywhere :). I then put on a button
Here's how it looks in my hair :)

ReplyDeleteYou are very creative with the headband design and flower. My hair is so thin a headband doesn't stay in very long :( Thanks for sharing for the SMWYG party.
