Etched Desk

Remember that awesome desk that I got from CSN Stores yesterday? Well early this morning I decided that I wanted to do something with it... like at 5:00am when I was feeding a little girl. Well I did it, shortly after getting her back to sleep (have a mention that when I want to do something, I can't sleep and have to do it at that very moment).

So this is what it looked like yesterday:

And here is what it looks like now:

I etched the glass!! I have wanted to some how puts some leaves on it. I was thinking vinyl but I knew that I would probably mess it up when working on it. And I didn't want paint, I wanted something more subtle. So then I remembered that I had those awesome stencils from my bathroom redo and some etching cream left over from my personalized casserole dish. I put the two together and this
what I got!
I put the etched glass on the bottom, so I wouldn't mess it up.

So would do you think, does it look better?

I love what you did, but how did you get the etching cream off without it smearing to the rest of the glass? I just got my first bit of etching cream and am afraid to use it lol. Would it hurt my stainless steel sink? (when just rinsing it of glass items)
