One day I had to make a dessert for a little gathering and I remembered one dessert that my mom made when I was in high school. I called her up and said that I needed that "ice cream dish recipe" and she knew exactly what I was talking about :) This is one of those recipes that when you make it, others will ask for it!!
Oreo and Ice Cream Dessert aka Heaven! :)
What you will need
1 package of oreos
1/2 gal ice cream
1 tub whip cream
1 jar/can Hershey's fudge (not chocolate syrup)
1 stick butter
You will have to freeze each layer for 20 minutes before adding the next layer.
Layer 1) Crush 2 sleeves of Oreos. Melt butter and mix to Oreos and spread over 9x13 dish
Layer 2) Add ice cream, I used vanilla but you can get creative here
Layer 3) Add Hershey's fudge
Layer 4) Add Whip cream
Layer 5) Crush remaining Oreos and sprinkle on top
Freeze. This dish tastes best frozen, so when you're at the party, you may want to put it back into the freezer and not just let it melt, like I did.....
This one is a sure fire winner. I have made it dozens of times, and always to great reviews. Might I add however, serve small portions. If you serve like normal cake so much will not be eaten, because it is so rich and filling and you don't want a crumb to go to waste :D In other words..leftovers for you!
