Don't miss out and 5 years old!

Today is my sweet boy's birthday!!!! This cute kid is 5 years old!!! I don't know what it is about 5, but it's a big age and they all the sudden really start growing up!!

Happy Birthday to you Tyce!

Plus with the FREE shipping on orders over $75, you can get a lot of great stuff for cheap!! Did you know that the free shipping is calculated before the discounts? What store does that?! I don't know of any and it's awesome!!! I know that I'm going to take advantage of this sale and you should too! Use coupon code JINGLEBELLS and get stocked up! It ends tonight, so don't miss out!

Whatever Wednesday: NOEL

Do you remember my post where I made a 1 out of cardboard and felt. Well I loved how it turned out. It didn't cost me anything, plus I have a ton of felt left over from the Angry Birds costumes, so I decided to make something for Christmas. So I made a big NOEL to put on my wall. It's bold and big (each letter is about 12"x10") and I love it!

This is how I made it:
1) I cut lots and lots of circles out the felt

2) Next I cut out NOE out of cardboard. I reused the 1 and made it a L. Then I glued the circles onto all the letters.

3) I added some flowers to each letter. For the flower on the O and E, I cut several petals out of the felt. I made two sizes.

4) I folded them on the straight side and glued them onto the letter.

5) I hung the letters up on the wall with painters tape.

And now I have a fun Christmas decoration that didn't cost me anything and I got rid of my extra felt! :)

Here is a close up on the flowers. I decided to add yellow too, just for some extra color :)

Neighbor or Teacher Christmas Gift Idea: Cookies for Santa Plate and Cookies

Did you know that December is this week?? Before I know it, Christmas is going to be here! Times really does fly! This year for my neighbor gift, I decided to make something that they could turn into a family activity. I saw this post and thought that it would be a good idea for cookies for Santa. Then I thought that it would be so cute to give them the cookies, a plate to put the cookies onto and then a mug for the milk for Santa.

This is how I made the plates.
1) I got some plates and mugs. I got all of these at the dollar store!!

2) I used my Silhouette to cut out the vinyl. I used Expressions Vinyl's outdoor series to make the plate. You can wash the plates because the vinyl is waterproof. I personally would hand wash them, but I've heard that it does well on the top rack of the dishwasher! I used the colors: black, yellow, white, lime tree-green, and orange.

Here is Santa:

A snowman

And a penguin.

3) I next I put the vinyl onto the mug.

Now for the Cookies for Santa. These usually go into a jar, but I thought it would be fun to put it into a mug.
This is what you will need for it:
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & leveled

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup cooking oats

3/4 cup m&ms

3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 – 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Add the ingredients into the mug in that order. Isn't my little boy so cute in the background :)

I didn't realize that my mug was going to be too small.... so I filled it and will have to give them rest of the dry ingredients. Hopefully it won't look too tacky.....

I put saran wrap over the mug and then put some fabric on the top. Then I attached the directions on how to make the cookies:
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Stir dry ingredients in a large bowl and add:
1/2 cup butter, (almost melted)
1 slightly beaten egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine thoroughly. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Bake for 10 minutes

I hope that Santa will like these cookies!!

Crafty Wood Cutouts: JOY

I really excited to share with you a new company that opened up in Orem, Utah a couple of weeks ago, it's called Crafty Wood Cutouts. They have some super cut wood cutout there. Here are a few that they sell at their stores:

Cute, huh? They even have more at their store in Orem, Utah. They have some great ideas on their facebook page too.

Crafty Wood Cutouts sells the wood, but they also sell kits too. They give you the wood and then what you need to make it. It's so easy and simple (and of course I LOVE that!).

I got to make this super cute JOY for Christmas. Aren't the colors just perfect?

This is the kit that I got, it came with the wood, paper, vinyl saying and tulle.

This is how I made it:

1) I first traced the letters onto the scrapbook paper.

2) Then I cut them all out.

3) I painted the sides white.

4) With mod podge, I put the paper onto the wood.

5) I inked the edges and sanded them and tied the tulle onto the J and added the vinyl to the O.

This only took about 30 to 45 minutes and that included the drying time. Oh how I love super easy and super cute projects!!!

Right now Crafty Wood Cutouts is only available at their store:

631 N 1200 W, Orem UT

So if you live in Utah, you should go check it out. You won't be disappointed! :)
