Motivate Me Monday #85

Hello everyone! I hope that you had a great weekend!

TODAY IS MOVING DAY!!

Today we start our 13 hour journey to Utah. It's going to be an adventure with the four kids. Most likely we will be stopping a TON. Wish us luck on this new adventure!

I'm going to take a two week break, with only Motivate me Monday posts and then after the two weeks, I'm coming back FULL FORCE!! I have been sewing and scrapbooking and doing other crafts this past month and so I'm ready to start really blogging again, everyday! Hopefully I can handle it with the move and all. So I will see you in two weeks!

Scrapbook Thursday

Family pictures...... sometimes don't go as planned. Sometimes they go great. Usually in my family, I have to bribe my kids so they will smile for me and that doesn't always work. This photo shoot actually wasn't too bad, but I love the "other" pictures that didn't make the cut. So I scrapbooked some of those pictures. They really tell a story and show the personality of my kids.

Whatever Wednesday: Shirt Redo

Remember those turtlenecks I bought way back in February? Well here is another one that I did. I made it very simple. Just cut off the neck and sleeves.

I made it a v-neck and gathered the sleeves. Seriously only took about 10 minutes!

Tutorial Tuesday: 5 minute vinyl

Wow I am on a vinyl kick! We are moving next week and with all of this packing, I have had to take a break and make something. I've been making lots of vinyl things because it doesn't take up any space and is so easy and quick.

Today is our 8th wedding anniversary and I wanted to show my husband how much I love him! So I came up with this idea. He just got a new car and thought it would be fun to "decorate" it in some way so when he's commuting to work, it might bring a smile to his face. It only took about 5 minutes and it will make my husband feel loved for countless hours!

This is how I made it:

1) I found an image that said "I love you". This one I really liked the font, but didn't care for the "PS"

2) I got rid of the "PS" by using CTRL+U and then deleted the "PS"

3) I arranged the "I love you" and then cut it out with my Silhouette. This is a great one to use when you have extra space in another project.

4) I removed the excess vinyl. I used black Expressions Vinyl.

5) I then transfered the vinyl to his car's mirror. Just a tip, don't do this when it's 100 degrees outside and the car has been sitting in the sun. The vinyl bubbles a little

And just like that, my husband has a little reminder of my love everyday :)

Motivate Me Monday #84

Hello everyone!! I hope all is well! I was really planning on going through the last week's link and get several features, but then life happened.... Our van broke down, we had a garage sale and then of course packing, so I didn't get to it! But I did see a couple that I loved!

Green Acres Hobby Farm made this fabulous Lightning McQueen out of a card board box!! I'm going to have a ton of empty boxes soon, and I'm totally going to make this!

Scrapbook Thursday

I'm slowly getting caught up on my baby girl's scrapbook. Here is her first bath pictures. It is a very simple layout that didn't take up much time, my kind of scrapbooking :)!

Whatever Wednesday: Tooth Pillow

My oldest son is about to lose his front teeth. I've seen lots of people make little pillows, so I thought that I would make him and my other son one. They are very simple and I just used what I had on hand.

For these pillows, I used Expressions Vinyl t-shirt vinyl. They have some really fun colors!

This is how I made them:

1) I found two images, one of a tooth and the other smiley faces.

2) I didn't want all of the faces, so I used the ungroup button (CTRL+U) and then deleted all but the one. To get the circle off, I had to use the release compound path button (under object). Once I deleted the circle, I used the group button (CTRIL+G).

3) I moved the face to where I wanted and adjusted the tooth. I then cut it out of my Expressions Vinyl flocked white t-shirt vinyl.

4) Then for the names, I mirrored the images.

5) I put both of the red and sky blue t-shirt vinyl onto the mat and cut it with usually settings for heat transfer paper.

6) I took off the excess paper and then ironed the words onto a sheet of felt. I ironed it for about 45 seconds.

7) I did the same thing for the pocket.

8) I then sewed some ribbon onto the three sides of the pocket.

9) I pinned and sewed the pocket onto the felt.

10) I folded the felt in half and sewed three sides together

11) I then added some stuffing and then sewed the last side shut.

And now my boys have little tooth pillows.
