Have you noticed lately that I have been trying really hard to take my style up a notch? Well I am! But at the same time, I'm trying really hard to not spend a ton of money on myself (since my braces cost me quite a bit). I have some pretty cute clothes, so I thought that if I just add some kind of accessory that would help with my style. So I did just that, I made myself a cute necklace to go with a plain grey dress.
This is how I made it
I took a strip of fabric, 2.5"x14"
I folded it in half and then sewed it.
I then turned it inside out.
Then I took some a marble and put it into the middle of the fabric.
I twisted the fabric and glued it together. Then I added another marble. I continued doing that until the fabric was filled with marbles.
I wanted to put something in between the marbles. I thought about beads, but I didn't have any that were big enough, so took the ribbon, folded it in half and then glued it in between the marbles.
Then I added some ribbon for the necklace.
I added a rosette flower.
And that's it! Super easy and simple. I love that I can have it be super long or short. It just depends on what I'm wearing that day :)

This is really nice. But hoe heavy is it with marbles in it?
ReplyDeleteReally cute! I've seen people do something similar but they call them teething necklaces that the mom wears for the baby. I would be kind of worried about something happening and the baby getting the marble.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute and "stylish"! I saw a lady at church with something like this.
