2x4 Flag and 2x2 Firecrackers

It’s time for 4th of July decorations.  I just love the colors and the stars of the 4th of July, they are so much fun!!

I saw the flag idea on pinterest.  And last year I made these firecrackers, so I thought I would make them again.

For the flag:
I took a 2x4 and cut it into 6 pieces.  Two of them were 7” and the other four were 3.5”.  Notice the green spray paint?  I got this 2x4 in the clearance section for only $.51!  I love the clearance section Smile

I sanded the wood and then painted them.

I sanded the edges and then with wood glue, glued the pieces together.

I took some white vinyl from Expressions Vinyl and cut out a star with my CAMEO.  And that’s it, super easy!!

For the firecrackers:
I took a 2x2 (I also got it in the clearance section) and cut it into three pieces, 10”, 9” and 8”
2x2 firecracker (1)
I sanded the edges and then painted it.
2x2 firecracker (2)
I cut out some stars and the words USA out of my vinyl, using my CAMEO of course Smile
2x2 firecracker (3)
I sanded the edges and the put the vinyl onto the wood.

For the fuse, I took a pipe cleaner and wrapped it around a pencil.

Then I just used a staple gun and attached it to the top of the wood.

Aren’t they so much fun!!!  I love how they turned out!  I should have made more Smile

  5. Visiting from BFOL. I was JUST about to throw away a bunch of scrap wood pieces but this post made me race back to the garbage can and pull them all out! Awesome idea and a great way to use up leftover scraps and paint!
