Velata: Fun Fondue Review

I’m a big fan of chocolate.  I just love it!  Sometimes I have chocolate for lunch.  I’m also a huge fan of fondue!  Chocolate just makes everything taste better!!
Velata is a new line of fondue warmers.  They are super fun and stylish!!  They have a variety to choose from:
The warmers work really well, plus they have a low, medium and high setting so you can choose how warm you want your chocolate to be!

Plus, they have some ah-maz-ing chocolate to go with it!
I got to try out the key lime pedestal warmer and the caramel milk chocolate!

The chocolate was so creamy and delicious!!  I could have stuck my finger in it and just eaten it plain (I may have or may not have done that…..)

It was delicious on the fruit that we had.  My kids got a kick out of being able to use the awesome forks and dip their fruit in the chocolate!

Looks super yummy, huh?  Well it was!!

I just loved the fun color of the warmer and that I didn’t have to worry about my kids being around an open flame or warm stove to dip the chocolate in.  I loved that it kept the chocolate warm and creamy the whole time that we were eating it!  I was so impressed by how good the chocolate was too!  I can’t wait for my next party so I can whip out my awesome  Velata warmer and have it be the centerpiece of the table!

Cafe Bella Rue

One of my favorite things about Utah are all of the amazing restaurants.  One of my favorite ones that I have gone to is called Café Bella Rue (formally known as San Gelato Café) in Daybreak, South Jordan.  I have been there a several time and each time I go it has been a good experience!
The food is excellent, the restaurant is clean and workers are always so friendly and helpful!

We took the family out for the dinner.   I’m always hesitate to take all four of my kids to a play without a play place because they are so crazy!  But they were so excited to get there are see couches!  The sitting area was great for them.  I let my oldest check out their kids menu, while the other three were nice and comfortable.

I was so excited to see that they had a kids’ meal that came with a drink and a cone!!  My kids loved the pizza and the super cool bench and table we sat at!

My husband and I love sandwiches, so we both got one.  I got the turkey avocado and I ate every single bite!  It was delicious!

My husband got the French dip!  I tried it and almost ate half of his sandwich because I couldn’t put it down!

After dinner, we had to get some of the awesome gelato!  This is the first place I ever tried gelato and now I’m hooked!  They have a ton of flavors to pick from too!

As you can tell, all of my kids were super excited about their cones!!

My husband and I got to try out their new festivos!!  And they were soooooo good!!  Seriously, it was just right blend of flavors.  They are made with the gelato and soft serve gelato (the only place in Utah to have soft serve!).
This one is called the Mardi Gras Festivo and it’s has:
Pistachio Gelato layered with Heath Bar Crumbles & Caramel Sauce Topped with Caramel Sea Salt Gelato

This one is called Chocolate Trifle Festivo and it has:
Triple Chocolate Gelato layered with Red Velvet Bundt Cake topped with Tahitian Vanilla & Belgian Chocolate Gelato Swirl covered with Chocolate Sprinkles

We took our ice cream outside and let the kids play in the splash pad that is just right by the restaurant!  We sat and enjoyed our desserts and then kids got to play!  It was great and they all had a blast!

We had such a great family evening!  Dinner, dessert and entertainment!!  It was definitely worth the drive!

Butterfly shirt

By now, you know that one of my favorite things to do is take a plain shirt and put some heat transfer on it and give it new life!  It's super easy to do and I feel like I get new clothes!

This is how I made it:
1) With my CAMEO I cut out the images.  All of these were from the Silhouette online store.  For the smooth heat transfer, I used blade 2 and thickness 16.  For the flocked I used blade 3 and thickness 33.
2) I first put the silver flourishes onto the shirt and ironed them on.
3) Next I put the butterflies onto the shirt.  I used the multi-use paper, so I didn't burn the heat transfer.
4) Next I put the white onto the butterflies.  I love how it looks on the flocked heat transfer!
Here is the heat transfer on the shirt, love the colors!!

I wanted to add some rhinestones onto the shirt, who doesn't love a little bling?  I just recently got the new designer edition software for my CAMEO.  It's awesome!!  Here are the additional features that you can do with it:
  • Ability to open, manipulate, and cut .svg files
  • Rhinestone tools to convert designs into rhinestone templates and create your own rhinestone designs
  • Sketch tools to convert designs into several styles of sketchable art
  • Creative knife tools to allow you to clip designs using different patterns
  • Enhanced eraser set to modify designs with more precision
  • Built-in ruler and guide lines for precise alignment and drawing
I had to try out the rhinestone feature!  I used the supplies in the rhinestone starter kit.
5) I just draw a little loop with the draw tool.

6) Then I went to the rhinestone page and clicked on the edge button.  It's so easy and quick!  I used the 16ss size.
7) I cut the image out, I used the blade 3 and thickness 33.
8) I peeled the blue paper and then put it on the backer board.
9) I then filled it with rhinestones.
10) I put the transfer paper on the rhinestones and then put it on the shirt.  I then ironed it using the wool setting.
11) I flipped the shirt inside out and ironed the inside to set the glue.
12) I did another loop with the 10ss rhinestones.
And that's it!!  It's like a new shirt :)

Remember that right now, you can get the rhinestone starter kit and the CAMEO for only $269.99!!!

4th of July fireworks shirt

4th of July is one holiday that I actually like to make (or buy) shirts for. I like to be able to have them all in red, white and blue when we go to the parade and do fireworks.
Well with the craziness of this summer, I was debating if I really wanted to make my kids some 4th of July shirts, because the last thing I need right now is more stress or something else to do.  But then someone on my facebook page shared this link with me and I had to make them!  They are so much fun and super easy to make!
fireworks shirt (1)
I used a white shirt, paint, glitter and pipe cleaners to make the fireworks.
I took 4 pipe cleaners and twisted them together.  Then I opened up the ends to make this shape.

I put some glitter in the paint and then dipped the pipe cleaner into the paint.  Then I painted the shirt.  I did moved the pipe cleaners a circle was I stamped the shirt.  Make sure you put something in the middle of the shirt so it doesn’t go through.

I did the same thing for the blue color.  I made another “stamp” out of pipe cleaners for the blue paint.fireworks shirt (10)
And now for the words, I used my heat transfer vinyl and CAMEO to make the flags and the saying.

I ironed on the heat transfer.

And that’s it!!  Super fun, huh?
