Saturn Valentine {free with printable}

My oldest son is obsessed with outer space right now.  His favorite planet is Saturn and so I wanted to make a Valentine that involved space.  Here is what I came up with.
Saturn valentine (7)
This is how I made it:
I took some foil and then painted it brown.
Saturn valentine (1)
I cut out a piece of foil and then wrapped a sucker with it.
Saturn valentine (2)
Then with some wire, I made the rings.  I left some wire at the ends to wrap about the stick of the sucker.
Saturn valentine (3)
Here it is with the wire.  I love that shadow actually looks like Saturn!!
Saturn valentine (4)
I made a little card to go with it.  You can get a free printable here
Saturn valentine (5)
I also thought it would be cute to make a sucker into an alien, so I did the same this with the foil but painted it green.  Then drew the face on with a Sharpie.
Saturn valentine (6)
And that’s it!  Perfect for my space loving son!

I would love it if you followed along.

  1. You put so much effort into these things - they look good and such a clever way to incorportate his interests.

    I have never done anything with Valentines day. Is it a dig deal in USA? When I was a kid I never even heard of it and then as I got older only heard of it for those dating etc. even now it is more a marketing thing than anything else really.
