Five years ago I bought some 12×12 canvases for about $1.50 each. I knew that I could do something with them to make them look so much better. So I covered them with fabric for my last house. Since then I have changed the colors of my house, so I decided to change up the fabric too. I used the lime, aqua and grey colors that are in my master suite and I love how they turned out!
This is how I made them:
Here is the before pictures of the canvases, not so much my style. Especially the one with the women and man sitting by the tree…
I cut out some fabric and then ironed on words cut out of heat transfer. I used my Cricut and the cartridge simply sweet.
Then I ironed on a cursive word over the word laugh. I covered the heat transfer with a piece of fabric so I didn’t burn the heat transfer while ironing. I used the cartridge opposites attract for these words.
I then folded the fabric over the canvas and stapled it in with a staple gun.
I then decorated the canvas with ric rac and a glue gun.
I finished it off with some a little flower from some rose trim.
And that’s it! I like them much better than before!
I did the same thing to the other two canvases, just with a different design.
I love the look of the rose trim on them!

This is so cute! This could be a good idea for the baby's room. Thanks again!

Like the way one word is over-written on the other. Well thought!

I linked here from Sumo's Sweet Stuff. I love the idea of using fabric not only for utility, but for decor because fabric is awesome! Do you have any tips for getting the corners to lay flat? I covered a square magnet board and my corners ended up a bit bulky.
