Italian Parmesan Chicken Pasta Recipe

We are HUGE fans of pasta in our house.  It's by far our favorite food.  All 6 of us eat it really well, so  I make it for dinner all the time.  It's easy to make but most of all it's super yummy!  I personally like variety of my pasta, so I'm always trying to figure out how to make things taste a little different.  But not take too much time

When I heard about Kraft Fresh Take meal kits, I was very intrigued.  I loved the idea of having a breading and cheese to put onto your meat for a new flavor.  I could use the same recipe but then change up the flavor with the breading.  Sounded perfect!

So I headed to Walmart and picked up a couple for some meals.  I went with the Italian Parmesan and the Chedder Jack & Bacon.  I really wanted to try to the Southwest 3 cheese, but they were out.  And just for your information, these are located in the cheese aisle.  Not in the baking aisle where the Shake N Bakes are (that's where I went first).  They are only $2 too, so worth it!  For my whole shopping experience, check out my Google+ album.
Kraft Fresh Take
This is what you will need for the recipe:
1 packet Italian Parmesan #FreshTake
Chicken Breast
Any pasta you like, I went with penne.
Onion diced (I used only 1/4)
1 green pepper diced (I used only 1/4)
1 can Rotel (I used mild).  This can easily be substituted with another can of diced tomatoes or tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
1 8oz can tomato sauce
1 clove garlic minced
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp parsley
salt and pepper to taste
mushroom (optional)
Italian Parmesan Pasta (2)
This is how you make it:
You take the Kraft Fresh Take and open up the bag and mix the cheese and breading.

Then you dip your chicken in water and place it into the bag.  Shake it a little to get full coverage and then place onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 25 minutes

For the sauce, add all of the other ingredients into a pan and cook until warm and veggies are tender.
Italian Parmesan Pasta (6)
Cook pasta according to the instructions on the box.
And that's it!  It was super yummy!
Italian Parmesan Pasta (8)
My oldest son loved the flavor of the chicken and he is super picky (and I mean super picky).  I'm pretty sure he had 5 pieces.  The flavor tasted so good with the pasta.

My hubby decided that he wanted mushroom with his pasta, so he added those.

I will definitely be trying some of the other meal kits.  I really just want to bread some chicken with the cheddar and bacon one and serve it with a side dish.  Or use the Italian Parmesan again and put it with regular spaghetti, with a sauce from the can.  Super easy to make plus it will add a little variety in our meal without having to come up with a completely different meal.

Watch for the Kraft Fresh Possibilities Tour truck, it is going to be touring the country from March until end of July.  It might be making a stop in your town.  Check out the schedule at this website: Fresh Possibilities Tour.
