Top Posts of 2013

Tomorrow is the new year.  I love the idea of getting to start over again and have a fresh year.  This year wasn't my favorite year (although I love that we added a new member of our family), so I am glad to see it go.  I'm hoping for a better year this year.

It's always fun to look back and see what I have made in the past year.  It's also fun to see which ones were a hit and most popular.  Here are my most popular posts of 2013:

valentine's pencil (4)

Halloween bowling cans (9)

pumpkin cookies

tasty fall treats

mustache valentine (8)

Christmas M&M pouches #freeprintable

fall candy pouches

And the most popular most of 2013 (and my most view tutorial) is............

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I sure did. I've taken the last week or so kind of slow but I'm super excited to reflect on 2013 and reign in 2014 this coming week. One of my favorite things I did this year was start Sew Our Stash a monthly series where we share stuff that we sewed for ourselves. If you're a sewing type I wanted to invite you to join in the selfish sewing this coming year as you're making your New Year's resolutions. I know the accountability has been great for me. You can read more about the series here.

Another reason I'm excited for New Years is for party food. I'm a total sucker for appetizers and munchies. So today's features are some of the great finger foods and beautiful desserts that you guys have linked up over the passed parties! And here are also some from our hosts.

Easy Winter Craft: 2x4 Wood Snowmen

This post contains affiliate links.

Vinyl is one of absolute favorite things to cut with my Silhouette.  I LOVE it!  Here is a fun little winter craft I did using vinyl.

I have a thing for snowmen.  I think I like that I can use them for Christmas but also have them up with my winter decor too.  These were so easy to make and I love how they turned out!

2x4 snowman
I took a 2x4 and cut it into 3 different pieces.  I cut the pieces: 3 3/8", 4" and 5". I sanded them and then painted them white.

I then put some scrapbook paper onto them using mod podge.
2x4 snowman (2)
I used my Silhouette to cut out the faces out of vinyl but you could easily use a punch or scissors.
2x4 snowman (3)
I then drew on the face with a Sharpie and glued the three pieces together using a glue gun.
2x4 snowman (4)
And finally I added some fleece for a scarf.  And that's it!  Aren't they fun?
