If you saw my home tour post, then you saw my three boys’ room all decked out in Minecraft stuff. I had so much fun making their Minecraft themed room. Some of my favorite pieces in there is this large statement piece with this Minecraft wall art, including a zombie, Steve and a creeper. Each face is about 21×21 inches. These were so easy to make and the best part was that they were very inexpensive. I just reused some wood that I had for another project I did for my last house. I just used the backside. And that wood was cheap, only about $2 for all three pieces.
This is how I made them. I took some ply wood and cut them into 21×21 squares. As you can tell by the paint, this is the back side of painted wood. I then drew a grid onto the ply wood using a L square to line it up. Each line was 1.5 inches apart. As you can see, I always have “helpers” when I do projects :).
And here they are in their room. I love that they are a huge statement piece for such a long and big wall!

Hi Kaysi. I have a 10 yr boy that LOVES minecraft. Ive seen pictures of your idea & have wanted to try it for months now, but didnt know how to go about it. (i am no artist, by far) then i searched the images again & stumbled onto this website. I just wanted to tell you how awesome you are for "making it so simple" & they look so great! I am going to go give it a shot, rite now.
Thanx Kaysi,
