I am a huge superhero fan. I love all of them.  Superhero movies are my some of my favorite movies.  So when I heard about Guardians of the Galaxy I was really excited to see it.   We weren't able to see it in the theaters so I hurried and picked it up on Tuesday (12/9) so we could #OwntheGalaxy and have a fun family movie night.  I knew that my older boys would absolutely love it but I wanted to do a fun little activity that they could do during the movie (sometimes my kids don't have the best attention span).  So we picked up the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO set and decided that it would be fun to make a fun video of the movie with the LEGOS.  It actually was a huge hit and the kids had a lot of fun and it was just so much fun spending time together.
I headed to Walmart to get the movie and the toys.  Luckily I went on Tuesday when it first came out  on DVD because the next day, the display was completely empty.  Crazy!!  So if you've been wanting to get it soon, for you or for a present, make sure you get it soon, it's going fast! The DVD features an exclusive music zinepack.  Plus you get a 64 page magazine with cast and crew interviews, exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and trivia and a custom cassette laptop decal.

We put on the movie and I let the kid put together the LEGOS.
They all had fun watching it and building, it was a good combination.
Once we got all the fun toys built, we set up our LEGO table and got ready to make the video.
What you do is take a picture of the LEGOS, you take a LOT of pictures.  You move the pieces just a little bit and then take another picture.  I had my kids move the pieces and then I took the pictures.

Then you put the pictures into a movie maker, change the duration of each picture to be about .3 seconds and then add some music.  And then watch what happens.  It's so much fun and my kids had a BLAST doing it!!  The whole time we were doing it my oldest was yelling, "I am GROOOOOOOOOOOT!".

Since Guardians of the Galaxy is so hot right now, the toys would make the perfect gifts!  Right now you can get a $5 gift card when you buy a Groot, Drax, or Rocket Raccoon figure for Disney Infinity 2.0.  It's only available through 12/7-12/13, so hurry over and get it before it's too late!
They really do make great gifts, I gave the LEGO set to my son for his 8th birthday.  It was the perfect gift for him!  He loved it so much!

Have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet?  Who is your favorite character?
