Almond Milk Recipe: 3 Ingredient Homemade Pina Colada Recipe #silkalmondblends

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for #CollectiveBias and its advertiser.

One of my favorite things about summer is that I can drink cold drinks and eat popsicles all the time without people thinking that I am super weird (I do it in the winter and people think I am crazy).  This summer I have been loving pina coladas and I wanted to try making a homemade version.  I wanted to make something that was yummy but also was better for me.  Not just sugar and empty calories like the mixes you can buy.

I used almond coconut milk and it turned out so good and it only took 3 ingredients!

I headed to Safeway to get the #SilkAlmondBlends for it.  I was so excited to see that they had a coconut flavor.  They also have a digital coupon that you can use to save on them too.

I picked up these two flavors.  There are several benefits of almond milk, one being that there is more calcium.  I'm really excited about the more protein and fiber, those are two major things that I need more in my diet.  I love quick and easy smoothies, so I'm going to use this more so I can have more protein and fiber regularly.

This is how I made the pina colada.
1 can crushed pineapple
2-3 cups of vanilla ice cream

Blend it all together and then enjoy!

It turned out amazing and it was so easy to make.  I topped it with some whip cream.

I wanted to make something for my kids to enjoy.  No matter what, my kids are going to want to eat popsicles, so I thought that I might as well make them a little more healthy for them and not just be plain sugar.

So I used apple raspberry juice, raspberries and the almond milk.  I prepared the juice with 2 cans of water (instead of 3), filled the popsicle mold 1/2 full and added a couple raspberries.  Then I froze it.

Once it was frozen, I then added the milk and added raspberries to the milk and stuck a stick into it.  Then I put it into the freezer.

They were perfect for a nice warm day for my kids to enjoy them!

14 4th of July Ideas {MMM #231 Block Party

Summer has been flying by! It's hard to believe it's time to get ready for the 4th of July.

Your party hosts have been busy lately too, here some projects we've been up to:
Kaysi from Keeping it Simple did some awesome Kitchen Subway Art.  Marissa from Rae Gun Ramblings whipped up an It's Always Autumn version of the Peter Pan Easy Tee.  Tiffany from Making the World Cuter was busy with this DIY Cabinet Makeover.

I participated recently in a new series called Crafting Con and put together a "Hermione at the Library" theme including a tote bag, book marks, and Gryffindor Quilt.  I haven't been blogging as much as I would like lately because I've been super busy working on some custom quilt orders.  I'll have some new tutorials up soon, though, and in the mean time, you can see what I'm doing on a day-to-day basis via Instagram @piecesbypolly.

Kitchen Vinyl Subway Art

Disclosure: I was given product in exchange for this post.  All opinions are 100% my own.

You all know that I absolutely LOVE vinyl, right?  Well I do!  Just LOVE it!  I had a space is my kitchen that needed something.  It was the space right above my pantry door.  It's a pretty decent size and I knew I wanted to put some kind of kitchen phrase or something there, just wanted sure what.
I suggested doing a subway art up there to my husband and he liked the idea, so I went with it.  I love how it turned out too! Best part is that it goes perfectly with my Kitchen Aid
I have a lot of people ask me where I buy my vinyl.  I buy ALL of my vinyl from Expressions Vinyl.  They are by far my favorite place!  The three colors that I used were: Lime-Tree green, Brimstone Yellow and turquoise.
Subway art does take a little bit of time and planning. I drew out my words and figured out the sizes of the words.  The space was 16"x28". Once I got the words figured out, I got it all figured out in my Silhouette Studio.
Here is what they looked like and the fonts that I used.

S’more Bars Recipe

I absolutely love S'mores!  They are so great.  You really can't go wrong with graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate.  So I thought that I would make some s'more bars.  They are like rice crispy treats but with golden graham cereal and chocolate.
This is what you'll need:
Box of Golden Grahams
4-6 chocolate bars
1 package of mini marshmallows and 1/2-3/4 stick of butter

1) Melt the butter and 3/4 of the marshmallows in a bowl in the microwave.
2) Add cereal and mix together.
3) Break up chocolate bars into several pieces and then add to cereal.
4) Put into casserole dish and top with the rest of the marshmallows and chocolate.
Chill and serve.
