My boys are obsessed with Minecraft.  They just love it.  Since school is starting this week for us, I need to make a homework station for my boys to do their homework on.  This is what we came up with- a Minecraft Crafting table.

Easy DIY Jewelry Stand

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, all opinions are 100% my own.

Lately I have been on an organizing kick.  I have been trying to get my life in order and that includes my house and my stuff.  I like to have a place for everything and everything in it's place.  It was time to organized my jewelry more.  I have my necklaces hung up in my closet but I wanted to put something fun and cute on my night stand, so when I go to bed at night I had somewhere to put my jewelry.  It was super easy to make and I love how it brightens up my night stand and keeps my stuff contained.

This is how I made it:
All you need a cute plate, bowl and candle stick.

I spray painted the candlestick a white (I didn't put much on it because I wanted it to look like it was still clear with a hint of white).
easy-DIY-Jewelry-Stand (1)
Then using a strong glue, I glued the candle stick onto the plate.

Then I put some more glue on top of the candle stick and put the bowl on.  You could also use another plate but I like the idea of the bowl so things don't fall out as easily.

Let dry and that's it!  I love it.

I don't sleep with my rings, on, so the bowl is a great place to put them.

Now I want to go get some more jewelry to put on it.  Like some charms and silver chains from

Storage Solution for Small Bathrooms- DIY Bathroom Shelves

This post contains affiliate links.

I love our house, it's a great and amazing house and it's a house that I have been waiting my whole life for.  Even though I love my house, there are a few draw backs with it.  For example, it doesn't have many closets.  The master and two bedrooms upstairs have huge walk in closets that are AWESOME, but there are no closets in the bathrooms, no coat closet or linen closet.  I have had to be creative to make up for the lack of those closets.  Our downstairs/guest bathroom is a very small bathroom.  It's a 3/4 bathroom and when we moved here only had a pedestal sink and absolutely no storage.  For the first year here it wasn't a big deal because everyone had their bedrooms upstairs.  But now that my oldest son is downstairs, it was time to change up the bathroom and figure out a solution for the lack of storage in there.  So we built some shelves.

Road Trip Hacks for Young Kids {Recipe and Free Printable}

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RoadTripHacks #CollectiveBias #Safeway

Road trips can be hard with kids.  It gets long and boring for them.  Let's be honest, road trips get long and boring for us too.  This summer we took a long road trip to California for a family reunion and it was 13 hours one way.  We did it in one day both ways and I'm happy to say that the kids did awesome.  I was very prepared for the trip and I have a few tips and hacks to share with you to make your road trips easier too :).
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks
One of the most important things for a road trip are the snacks, they are essential to keeping the kids happy.  When the kids are happy, then it makes for a much better ride.  I headed to Safeway to get a variety of foods for our trip.

Here are a few things that I got.  Like I said before, happy kids = happy mom = happy road trip.  So I got some things that I know that they would love and enjoy during the trip.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (4)
One of my favorite things to make for road trips is a trail mix.  You get something sweet, salty and protein in just one snack!  Plus it's a fairly clean food (all foods are messy at our house :) ).  My favorite trail mix just has a few ingredients:
M&Ms- any variety, I put in milk chocolate, peanut and birthday cake.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (3)
Add all the ingredients into the a bowl and mix. You can put in as much or as little of each ingredient that you want, that's the joy of it.

Instead of doing one big bag or bowl, I gave each kid their own bag of it.  I have found that is by far the best way to do it, on trips or at home.  They do so much better when they have their own stuff.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (6)
I made each one of my kids their own snack container so they can have their own food and it's portioned out nicely.  Plus it's so much cheaper to by a box of something and put it into bags, rather than buying them individually packaged.  I put them in a container so they can control their own food and then they can put their garbage in them too and not on the ground.  Here is what I put in them:
Trail Mix
Wheat Thins
Capri Sun.
The Capri Suns are my favorite drink for road trips because they are big enough that they quench the thirst of the kids, but not too big that it makes them go to the bathroom every 10 minutes.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (7)
It all fits nicely into the container.  I put the lid on it and wrote the kids' names on it.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (11)
Now that I have the food and snacks under control- it's time for some entertainment.  When we went to California, I made up one Bingo sheet for the kids and it was a HUGE HIT!!  It forced the kids to look out the window, see the landscape of places they had never seen and actually enjoy the ride.  So I made up a couple more that they can play. The kids can play all three games at once (if they are older) or just do one at a time.  Either way, it's a fun things to do on the trip.  You can print out the three games here: Road Sign, Farm and Vehicles
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (19)
All I did for these was put them in page protectors and gave the kids a dry erase marker to mark off the ones that they see.  I also made them some individual binders to put them in, you can get the tutorial for that here.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (20)
Here is everything all ready for our next road trip.
#ad Road-Trip-Hacks-For-A-Great-Trip #RoadTripHacks (12)
The snack containers were a big success!!  The kids loved the snacks inside.

And here is a picture from our trip to California. My daughter is playing her Bingo game.  If you have kids that fight non stop (like my three boys), consider separating them with a kid in a car seat. They aren't as apt to punch or touch each other when there is a car seat between them.

Another thing that you can do is make a garbage bag for your car.

15 Ideas for a Better Back to School

Polly, here from Pieces by Polly as your host for this week.  Let me tell you, the last month of this summer is kicking my trash.  It's been crazy in a good way with vacations and everything.  I haven't gotten much blogging done, but lots of you have been.  I hope you're as excited about back-to-school as I am, so I've put together a round-up of ideas to help with the transition.

Now let's see what you've been up to! Be sure to read over the guidelines…

Yarn Wrapped Vase and Hobby Holster Glue Gun Holder

Disclosure: I was given product in exchange for this post, all opinions, ideas and content are 100% my own.

I love my glue gun, it one of my favorite crafting tools.  There are so much things that you can do with it.  One thing I don't love about my glue gun is I actually don't have any where to put it, when I'm using it or when I'm not using it.  So I was excited to try to out this awesome little glue gun holder called the Hobby Holster.
Hobby-Holister-glue-gun-holder (7)
These little pouches are made of silicone and can handle temperatures up to 400*F, so they are perfect for holding your glue gun (or even your hot iron in your bathroom).
Hobby-Holister-glue-gun-holder (3)
I now store my glue gun and glue sticks on the edge of my crafting table.  It's a great place for it because I like to craft on the table and the floor.  The silicone sticks to the table so I don't have to worry about it falling off.

I was working on wrapping a jar with yarn, so I moved the holster over to the edge of my table, closer to a plug in and got to work on my vase.  I was able to just put it in with it being hot.  It was great.  I didn't have to worry about setting the glue gun on something and ruining it.  Plus I didn't have to worry about me accidentally hitting the hot edge with my hand (I've done that before, it's not fun).
Hobby-Holister-glue-gun-holder (5)
I finished up the vase, put some flowers in it and then put it on some shelves in my bathroom!  I love how it turned out!

You should check out all of the fun products they have.  They are so cool and they stick to surfaces that aren't completely flat too!  So awesome!  Check out Holster Brands now, you won't regret it :).

DIY Funny Mens Shirt Idea: Accounting Calculator Shirt

Have you ever noticed that accountants get made fun of a lot in the movies and tv?  If they need a nerdy person on a show, they make him an accountant.  It makes me laugh so much because my husband is an accountant.  I love making him super funny shirts that make us laugh.

This is where I got the saying, from Park and Rec.  This still makes me laugh so much!

It was super easy to make. I just cut out the vinyl for the design and then removed the letters (instead of the extra vinyl) to make the stencil.  I used fabric paint and painted the letters.

Once it was all dry, I put the numbers onto the calculator.  Then I painted them a little darker blue.

And that's it!!  Super easy and fun!
