Halloween is just around this weekend and instead of going and buying a few Halloween buckets, I decided to whip up a few Frozen tote bags for trick or treating, since we are going with a Frozen theme this year. My daughter will be Elsa, my son Olaf and me- Anna. We are going to use them for trick or treating but then I'm going to let my little girl use them for a purse or just a tote bag or a fun book bag. Really you can do anything with it :).

For the past three years my kids have been asking to be Minecraft for Halloween. We usually have a family theme each year, so I usually can convince them to do something else. Well this year we aren't doing a family theme, so I let them do Minecraft. They picked a creeper, Steve and a zombie. They were easy to make and the best thing about them is they only cost $5 each to make, woohoo!! The heads are about $20 each so and they aren't nearly as cool as these ones :). I ended up making them a mask, a hat and a treat box (since they always seem to want a prop, I figured they might as well have a functional prop).

I don't know about you, but I am my own worst enemy. I am very hard on my myself and expect too much of myself. Anyone else feel like that? I have no problem talking up someone and telling them how amazing they are, but when it comes to talking about myself, I don't have much good to say. Well this is something that I need to change. I need to be more positive about myself and I need to say uplifting things to myself. So I decided to make some motivational wrappers for my snacks :).
Sometimes I think that we all need a reminder that we are awesome and we are strong and we can do hard things. Sometimes when I snack I do it for the wrong reasons, I'm bored, stressed, or need an escape from the kids. At times those times I feel like a failure and I'm hoping that these wrappers will help me remember that I'm not a failure, that I haven't given up or that I am weak. I am human and I am still strong even if I needed something sugary to get me through the day. Plus with these goodnessknows® snack squares, I really don't have to feel guilty about eating them :).

Even though it's fall and it's starting to cool off outside, we still love to grill out! Grilled chicken is one of our absolutely favorite meals, it's easy and clean up is a breeze! Plus my family just loves it! I think that one of the best things about grilled chicken that there are so many things you can do with it, especially when you have some awesome sauces to go with it. We made up some awesome BBQ chicken kabobs and some drumsticks the other evening and they were awesome. They would be perfect for dinner or for when you're watching the game with some friends. Either way they are delicious!

It is definitely cold and flu season and it's time to get ready for it. I've already gotten a cold twice this year and it's not fun! I know that when I am sick there are certain things that I just need to comfort me and make me feel better. I thought that it would be fun to make a fun get well gift basket for someone who is sick, made with Kleenex Brand tissues, food, printable and a movie. I know that when I don't feel good that some kind of gesture like this would be amazing!

Halloween is less then 2 weeks away!!! It's crazy how quickly it's coming! We are loving all the spooky, fun treats to make! I'm a sucker for cake batter (and cake batter flavoring) so I decided to make up some fun and yummy no bake cake batter truffles for my kids. They were so easy to make and they were amazing!!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love the creativity that goes into dressing up and of course the candy! Every year since my oldest son was 1 (he's 10 1/2 now) we had a family theme for Halloween. I knew that eventually it was going to happen and not everyone would agree on one theme. Sadly this year was the year. My boys agreed but there was no way that my only daughter was going to do something other than Frozen. She is almost 5 and has yet to be a girly person for Halloween. So we are having two themes this year. And of course I had to be involved with the girly theme. I picked my daughter up a super cute Elsa costume and my 2 YO an Olaf costume. I looked for an Anna adult costume and couldn't find anything under $40, which is a lot of money to me. So I decided that I was going to make one and I love how it turned out! It cost me less than $20 to make and if I hadn't made the cloak it would have only been about $10, you can't beat that!

Candy corn is one of those candies that you either love it or hate it. I actually hate it. It’s gross to me. But I love the look of it and it’s just a fun candy because it reminds of fall and Halloween. One of my favorite necklaces that I have made is my ombre wooden beads necklace I made a couple years back. I love it so much that I decided to make one that is very similar to it but in the colors of candy corn. It’s a perfect necklace for the fall!

When I was growing up, my closest sibling to me was my brother that is 2 years older than me. By the time I hit Jr. High all of my other siblings were out of the house (I was the youngest of 9) and because of that, I spent most of my time with my brother. I loved playing games and because I was the younger sister, I had to do things that he wanted to do. And because of that I learned to love superheroes. I remember growing up and for Halloween I would go as a superhero more often than another kind of costume. I just loved them. And of course I still love them! And since I have 4 boys and just 1 girl, our family loves superheroes too, especially The Avengers. We were all so excited about the new movie, MARVEL's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, coming out last week. To get more excited and ready for it, I decided to pick up some costumes and make a fun game for us to play before and after watching the movie!

Every season I like to change up my decor and for every holiday I like to change things up. I got all of my decorations out from the past couple years and I felt like a few of the things that I made in the past weren't cutting it this year, so I thought that it would be fun to make a few more things for my house. Well I wanted to do something fun for my porch. I have this chair out there that I want to put a sign on for every holiday. So I came up with this for the chair- I think that it's pretty fun and I love how it turned out!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of General Mills. The opinions and text are all mine.
The first thing that my kids do when they walk in the door after school (besides throw their backpacks onto the ground) is ask for a snack. Most days are hectic for me and I don't have something prepared for them and so they usually just go for the junk food. I am trying hard to not have that happen and have some more wholesome snacks on hand so they will go for those instead of the sugary or salty snacks. One of those things that I love to have on hand is yogurt. It's so easy and convenient, plus my kids love it! They also love to have a themed treat with a fun little message for them (they really do get a kick out of it!) so I decided to turn the yogurts into bats and make some fun printables to go with them. These are going to be perfect for after school snack or for their lunches!

You might know that we have been doing some home improvements in our house lately, especially in our kitchen. We are attempting to make it look nicer because it's not that big of a kitchen. We still want it to have a wow factor even though it's small, so we have been doing some things to it lately and it is definitely starting to feel like a nice kitchen!! When we finished putting in our back splash, I felt like it was missing something and that was kitchen hardware. Our kitchen looked nice but I felt like the hardware gives it a much needed finished look to it. For some reason I was hesitant to put the hardware on (we had a bad experience before and I was afraid that it was going to be hard). Well it was super easy to do and it looks fabulous!

The other day I woke up and it had been raining all night. The temperatures were in the 40s and when I went outside it just felt like fall and I loved it!! After all the heat of the summer I'm so excited to see rain and cooler temperatures, especially since it means that it's soup season!! I love it when it's cold and I can eat a warm bowl of soup to warm me up. My favorite soup to make is taco soup. It is so amazing and yummy and one of the easiest meals to make. If you know how to brown hamburger and open a can, then you can make this meal (it's that easy!). Another reason why I love this meal is because most likely you have everything that you need for it in your pantry already. I just buy two or three of each ingredient when I go to the store to keep in my pantry and when I am in need of an idea for dinner, I can just make this really fast. Everyone loves it, so it's a win-win for everyone!

I've mentioned it a time or a million before, I love Pumpkin! My whole house is decorated in them this time of year, it smells like them, and almost every day I eat something with pumpkin in it. Love I tell you. True love.
Hi everyone! It’s time to link up all the cute things you’ve been doing! I’m Tiffany from Making the World Cuter, and I’ll be hosting this block party today. We are still (it won't ever end, so don't think that it will) remodeling. The boys bunk room should be up on the blog this week and I am SO excited to share it with you! Be sure to check back on me so you can see how darn cute it turned out! So many pumpkin ideas were linked up last week that I couldn't possibly include them all, so if you pumpkins speak to your heart, be sure to browse last weeks party for so much pumpkiny goodness!

Halloween is getting closer and closer and I'm getting more and more excited about it! Now that it's October I feel like I can do Halloween related things and people don't think I'm a crazy person :). My kids are loving all the Halloween themed food and treats that they come home too. And I love the excitement that they get when I surprise them with something special I make them. With all the Halloween candy being out in the stores now, I thought that it would be fun to buy a bag of it and make a fun treat with it! And since it's apple season, I thought that it would be extra fun to create a treat inside an apple. But not just any kind of apple, but a Frankenstein apple.

It's October!!! Time to start decorating for Halloween, woohoo! This year I actually waited until October (well yesterday, but that's close enough) to decorate. I have seen these paper straw wreaths quite a bit and I have always wanted to make one. When I found these super cute Halloween straws at the dollar store, I knew that I wanted to make a wreath out of them, so I did and I love the outcome!
