Holiday Dessert Idea- Pie Bar with Mini Pie Samples

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ShareTheJoyOfPie #CollectiveBias

When it comes to pie, you can never get enough of it!!  Pie is one of those great desserts that is perfect any time of year, especially around the holidays.  I love that there are so many different flavors and crust styles so you can please everyone at a party or gathering.  If you are entertaining any time soon, this pie bar is a great idea.  You can get as many pies that you want, have some yummy toppings and even add ice cream to make it a la mode.  One more idea for the pie bar is making little samples of pie for the guests.  Sometimes I want to try a lot of different flavor of pies, or I want more than one kind of pie but I don't want a full piece of each pie.  So these little samples are perfect for that.  I can have 4 different flavors but not have to have 4 full pieces of pie.

Scent Inspired Cookies- Easy Chocolate Chip Apple Cinnamon Cookies

One of my fondest memories about growing up was coming into our house right after my mom had baked something.  The smell was heavenly and it just made me feel so happy and excited.  My mom is an amazing cook/baker, especially around the holidays. She made the best treats around Christmas time and I loved it!  There are certain smells that just remind me of home and being a kid and I just LOVE it! Cinnamon and baked goods are definitely scents that just bring me back to my childhood and all the good things that came with.  When I smell cinnamon, I immediately think about the holidays and all the fun times I had with my mom and my family.  Since it's the holiday season and I love my house smelling wonderful all the time, I decided to pick up the Glade® CHERISH THE PRESENT™ Jar Candle, which inspired me to make these super easy and oh so delicious apple cinnamon cookies.

DIY Easy Minecraft Christmas Pajamas

Yesterday I learned that today was pajama day at my kids' school.  I usually just send them in mixed matched pjs that we have laying around.  Well then I decided that I needed to do something fun for them and so last night, way past bedtime, the four of us made these fun shirts!  They were so easy to make, the kids helped me make them, and they turned out sooooo good!  I wanted to put some tinsel on them to make them more of an ugly sweater shirt, but they decided that they wanted to wash them and make them last, so we settled with felt.

Great Gift Idea for Parents- Gift Card and Photo Book

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #eHolidays #CollectiveBias

Every year I have great plans to be done with Christmas shopping before the Saturday before Christmas (I don't even try to think about doing it before December but I know that that is not possible).  I have all of these ideas of what I want to do and reality sets in and most of the time I am still shopping on Christmas Eve.  This year I had a really great idea to do something for the grandparents (our parents).  This is what I wanted to do: I wanted to make them a big photo book of our family, especially with pictures of them with our kids.  It was going to be great (at least in my head it looked great). And then December got away from me and I realized that it wasn't going to happen.  So then I thought that I would make a fun date night kit with a gift card to their favorite restaurant, some popcorn and a fun movie.  And then I realized by the time I got that done and shipped off to them it still might not make to to them in time for Christmas and plus the thought of having to pay $10 on shipping alone made it not look as good as an idea.  And then I found out about TheGiftCardShop.com and it solved all of my problems!!  I was able to combine my idea of doing a photo book and date night!!  It was perfect, it was easy and the best part was with the purchase of the gift card I got to make a FREE photo book and it gets emailed to them so I don't have to pay for shipping, it really was a win-win.

Teacher Christmas Gift Idea- Printable for Target Gift Card

This post contains affiliate links.

Christmas is coming and this is the last week of school for us.  So of course this week it has hit me that I haven't done a Christmas gift for my kids' teachers yet!!!  Ahhh, I always have good intentions to get things done earlier in the month, but it never happens!   I made up a printable for a Target gift card last spring for the end of the year and I loved them so much, that I thought that it would be great to make up a printable for Christmas gift cards.  They have so many fun ones right now, plus they make a perfect gift because everyone can use a gift card so they can get what they want!  I made up three different versions of the printable and they go really well with all the Christmas gift cards.  These are so easy to do plus you can add as much or as little as you want to the gift card!

Banana Cream Pudding Recipe with Minion Jars

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MinionsMovieNight #CollectiveBias

Every Sunday for dinner we do a family movie night and have a very low key dinner (like chips, salsa and nacho cheese).  We all gather around our family room, put down a table cloth and eat picnic style while watching the movie.  It's so much fun and the kids get really excited about it each week.  This past Sunday they were especially excited about our family movie night because we got to watch the new Minions movie.  To make it even more fun I made up an amazing and easy banana cream pudding and put them into fun minion jars for the kids to eat while we watched the movie (after dinner of course).

Christmas Pajamas Idea- Easy DIY Minecraft Pajamas

This post contains affiliate links.

One of our family’s traditions is opening one present on Christmas Eve.  And that one present is new pajamas.  I like to either buy/make pajamas that are characters of movies/games that they like.  My little girl is fairly easy because she loves all the Disney stuff and they are super popular, so I just picked her up a pair during Black Friday.  But boys are a different story, they like some of stuff that is popular right now, but they are obsessed with Minecraft.  And because Minecraft is newer they still don’t have a ton of stuff available, that isn’t super expensive.  I found a pair online that I loved but they were about $20 a pair, which times that by 4 and it’s really expensive.  So I decided to make a similar design and make them myself.  They only cost about $6 each to make, much better than $20 plus they turned out so cute and good, I can’t wait to give them to my kids on Christmas Eve.

Holiday Turquoise Lights with Glitter and Snowflakes

This post contains affiliate links.

There are several things that I love to change out during the holiday season.  It's fun to have a change up in my decor and try out some new color schemes.  I especially love to decorate for winter during the holiday season because I can keep it up longer than just a month.  I thought this year it would be fun to change up my pendants in my kitchen to be more festive and like holiday lighting.  A couple months back I dyed my pendants lights turquoise and I loved it soooo much that I thought it would be fun to do something similar, but a little more festive.  This time around I added glitter and snowflakes and I just LOVE them!!

Gift Idea for Men- DIY Bathroom Shelf for Beard Trimmer and Razor

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GiftOfPhilips #CollectiveBias  This post contains affiliate links.

Buying a gift for your husband is hard sometimes, well at least it's hard for me.  It seems like if there is something that he wants, he goes out a buys it.  He doesn't wait until his birthday or Christmas to get something.  So this year I decided to make him and buy him something that he needs. My husband is getting into his mid 30's and is the facial hair is finally coming in (it's cracks me up a little bit that he's now finally getting facial hair). I have been noticing that is has been grooming his facial hair more and more, so I decided it was time to get him something for that.  So I got him a really cool beard trimmer and then I made him a little shelf to organize all of his shaving stuff on.  I made the shelf 100% myself, since it's going to be his gift this year I wanted to surprise him with it already built :).

This post contains affiliate links.

The new Star Wars movie is coming soon, woohoo!!!!  Are you super excited about it?!?!  We are!  So excited that I decided that I needed to make some fun Star Wars book ends for my boys' room!   These were super easy to make and super inexpensive to make, they are just made out of 2x4s and 2x2s, paint and vinyl!  If you don't want to have them be book ends, they are still super cut on a shelf or table! I think that these are great for someone of any age too, I could see them on a book shelf in an office :) Oh and if your kids love Minecraft, make sure to check out my Creeper book ends that I made!

Holiday Party Foods- Cheesy Stuffed Jalapeño Poppers Recipe

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NaturallyCheesy #CollectiveBias

I love cheese.  And when I say I love cheese, I don't mean that I really like cheese, I mean that I am obsessed with cheese.  Seriously.  When I was in high school I was obsessed with cheese.  I loved eating it but I also the thought of it.  I owned two cheese heads (one was small, one was big), I had cheese earrings and anytime I saw cheese on socks or clothing I bought it.  My senior quote in the yearbook was "cheese and monkeys" and in my senior picture I had a block of cheese and a monkey with me in the picture (I was SO WEIRD when I was in high school!!!).  I still can remember buying the block of cheddar cheese on our way to pictures and my mom using a little pocket knife to put holes into the cheese to make it look like Swiss cheese (I liked the color of cheddar cheese but the holes of Swiss cheese).   Oh man, I was so goofy back then :)!

Like I said before, I LOVE cheese!  I love putting cheese into a lot of my meals (I also like to have extra cheese in everything!) and I love just snacking on it.  Whenever I have to bring some kind of appetizer for a party or am throwing a party, I make sure that I have something cheese related because it's just so good! When I am entertaining or need to bring something to a party, I love to bring a cheese tray and then these cheesy stuffed jalapeño poppers.  They are oh so good!

Christmas Place Settings- 2x2 Wood Santa and Reindeer

This post contains affiliate links.

I have found that my kids LOVE when I make something just for them, with their names on it!  It's not very often that we do big fancy dinners, only on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Easter.  I love to do some kind of place settings for those dinners, just for fun.  I made some turkey and pumpkin ones for Thanksgiving one year and they were so much fun, that I thought it would be fun to make ones for Christmas this year.  So I made some 2x2 wood Santas and reindeer.  They turned out so cute I love how they look!  They are going to go perfectly with our personalized dinner plates

DIY Glowing Star Wars Light Sabers

This post contains affiliate links.

Star Wars is coming!!!  Are you excited about it??  With a house full of boys, we are definitely excited about it!  We LOVE the Star Wars movies.  My sister is throwing her son a Star Wars birthday party this weekend and we were talking about party ideas and favors. So to get my kids even more excited about the movie, I decided to make them some GLOWING light sabers.  They were soooo easy to make, plus they were super inexpensive (about $1.25 each).  Plus they are so stinkin' cool.  These are pretty for birthday parties, for costumes or just for fun.
