How to Control Cat Litter Odor

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Fresh Step at Target for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have had our cat for 4 years now and we just adore her.  I love having a cat, they are easy going, they don't need much attention and don't require much work.  They can play and cuddle with you when you want it but there aren't always in your face the second you walk into the door like other animals are. Cats are great.

The only objection I have to cats is their cat litter, I hate the smell of it!  Our cat is an indoor cat.  When we first got her we lived in the country so she would go outside and catch mice and really not have to deal with any other animals except mice, rabbits and birds.  Well then we got to the city where we live now and learned that she does not like other animals (other dogs and cats) and wouldn't go outside, plus.  So since she is indoors all day long, we have to have her cat litter inside.  The only place that there was enough room for it to go is the laundry room.  As much as I love smelling the cat litter as I am doing the laundry (ha ha, yeah right!), we needed something that actually took care of the odor.  Especially since my cat doesn't like it when we change her litter too often (she likes the smell of it even if we don't).  So the solution to our problem, NEW Fresh Step® with the Power of Febreze™ Available at Target.

The new cat litter uses Febreze technology to eliminate the odors of the litter! Even though I have to be in the laundry room a lot (with 5 kids I have a lot of laundry to do...) the smell of the cat litter doesn't bother me because the litter takes care of it! The ClumpLock™ odor technology and formula makes it so the litter can last up to 10 days, which is great for us since my cat hates her litter getting changed and it also is great because it makes you save money because you can use it longer.
Another benefit of it is that it has a lower dust formula (than their previous formula), which is really nice for when she is there digging and burying her litter, it doesn't come out and get into the air.  This is a huge bonus to me because I have seasonal allergies and dust particles drive my nose crazy, so anytime I can control dust it's a huge plus to me!
My cat definitely approved of the litter and the new smell!  When I put it in her box, she immediately checked it out and then used it.  And I didn't smell a thing :).
This new cat litter is Available at Target and from 3/13 until 3/19 you will get a $10 gift card when you spend $40 on Fresh Step® litter plus there is a $2 off manufacturers coupon and a $1 Target coupon in SmartSource.
If you have a cat and are sick of the smells and odors that come from it, make sure you go and check out this new cat litter and learn more about it.

I know this is a sponsored post and you probably won't post it. But this product did not work for us. What finally worked was going back to the regular litter (anybrand) and mixing baking soda with it. The liter box also get's cleaned twice a month (unless it starts to smell). I have had people in my house that knew I had a cat and could not smell the liter box (liter boxes are in plain site out in the open.) If you suffer from allergies and are sensitive to smells then the Febreeze scent they put in it is not for you. If you can get this product with liter control without the Febreeze and mix in baking soda then you should be good to go.
