Upcycled Kids' Toothpaste Holder

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tom’s of Maine for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every week when the trash and recycling trucks come to our house to pick up our garbage, I am amazed by how much waste we produce.  Since it is Earth month this month, it's time to start thinking about making less waste, recycling more and leaving less of a mark on our planet. We always have so many boxes that we get rid of all the time, so I decided to upcycle one to make a cute container for my kids' bathroom. I've been wanting a pop of orange in there but have had a hard time finding a container that worked, so this upcycle was perfect.  It was the perfect color, didn't cost me a thing and it was one less thing I didn't have to toss.

To Get a New Shower, That is the Question

A lot of you might have seen my recent master bathroom makeover that we did a few weeks ago.  We didn't completely gut our master bathroom but really just change out the finishes to change it up.  We redid the bathtub, the floor and the vanity, leaving the shower because  it would be a big project and we really didn't want to put the time and money into it.  Plus since it was already white, it didn't clash with the new colors we were putting into the bathroom. I of course have thought about changing it out, who doesn't want to have a fancy shower, with beautiful tiles or a stand alone shower with clear glass doors to make a statement in your master bathroom?  I have always dreamed of having something like that, but reality hit and when we were redoing our bathroom, we decided not to tackle the shower.  I didn't think anything of it and posted about our makeover.

Here is a before picture of our master bathroom.  As you can see there is nothing special about the shower.  It's a decent size and does the job, it's just not glamorous in any way.

Tips On How to Find the Perfect Counter Tops for Your Kitchen

Have you ever had wanted to change out the counter tops in your kitchen or bathroom?  Well a couple months ago I wanted to and when I started looking into it, I was CLUELESS on the process that goes into it.  There is a LOT more details and steps that I was expecting.  I was thinking that you would just go to the store, pick out a granite and call it good.  But there are so many options and styles and edges and all of that jazz it was crazy confusing and intimidating.  Since I was so clueless about replacing counter tops, I figured that other people might be too, so I thought I would share the things that I learned along the way with all of you :).  So rather me showing you had it done, I am going to show you the process that you go through to get new counter tops!

Using the Power of Prayer to Feel Peace #PrinceofPeace

This post is sponsored by Mormon.org, all opinions are 100% my own.

As Easter approaches this year I have been trying to turn my thoughts and energy towards the true meaning of Easter and not towards the Easter bunny and candy (oh the Easter candy... it's soooo good).  Some years I get so worked up on trying to make fun crafts for Easter and then doing all the festive things with the kids I forget to focus the holiday on Christ.  There's nothing wrong with doing all the fun things with the holiday but it's about trying to find the balance so it is not just one sided.  Luckily for me and for you, the LDS church has set up a calendar for the week leading up to Easter that gives a theme and a simple activity to make sure that this Easter season is filled with the Prince of Peace.

Eight The Smart Mattress- Bed in A Box Mattress

I was given product in exchange for this post, all opinions are 100% my own.

Technology is amazing and it seems to be getting better and better every day.  Technology has helped our lives so much and has made things easier.  Well things just got better because there is now a smart mattress!  Say what?!  I had no clue that they could do something like that, I knew that things can help track your sleep but I didn't realize that there is a mattress that does that.  So cool, huh?!

Master Bathroom Makeover with Gray and White Color Scheme

This post contains affiliate links.

We have been working on our master bathroom this year and I'm finally ready to show you the whole thing, all complete!!  There were three big parts to this remodel, we tiled the floor, tiled the bathtub, and painted the vanity.  I absolutely love how it turned out and I just stare at it non stop when I'm in it and still can't believe that we were able to make such a huge difference in our bathroom.  It went from being pretty dark to being white and bright! It took us about 5 weeks to complete (really 5 weekends with me doing a few things here and there through out the week).  And if you want to see how we did a certain part, make sure to click on the links because they will take you to the tutorials on how we did everything!  And now it's time to show you my master bathroom :).

How to Cook Hard Boiled Eggs in an Instant Pot in 10 Minutes

This post contains affiliate links.

We love hard boiled eggs at our house but I don't like to boil them and deal with timing them and making sure that are done.  And then you have to cool them correctly to make sure the shells come off smoothly.  It's kinda a big hassle, so I honestly don't make them very often.  Then I got my instant pot and made them in it and I will NEVER make hard boiled eggs on the stove again!  This way is fool proof, quicker and the shells just basically fall off!  And with Easter coming soon, this is the way I will be making eggs so we can dye them.

Indoor Relay Races with Goldfish® Crackers

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GoldfishGameTime  #CollectiveBias

Goldfish® crackers are one of our favorite snacks.  All of my kids love them (and so do I!). I swear anytime we are at Walmart, my kids are begging me to get more Goldfish crackers.  We go through them so quickly because we just can't resist these fun crackers that have a smile on them.  The Snack That Smiles Back®.   After my kids get home from school, they are always asking for a snack and I usually send them to the pantry to get some of these crackers :).

We have had a really LONG winter this year.  We have had 10 snow days this winter and the weather has been awful, so we have spent a lot of time indoors.  My kids (and I) have been going stir crazy. and needed to be a more active.  And since we couldn't go outside,  I decided to make snack time a little funner.  I got the kids together and we had some fun relay races with the Goldfish crackers.  It was so fun to watch and play, for everyone in the family.

Tips on How to Paint Dark Veneer Cabinets White {with Iced White Quartz Counter Tops}

This post contains affiliate links.

If you've been following along then you know that we have been remodeling our master bathroom.  It has been a LOT of work but I seriously love the outcome of it all!  I look in there and I'm in shock that it's my bathroom and that my husband and I did the work :).  If you haven't seen the other two parts of the bathroom remodel, check them out!  We installed tiles floors and then also installed tiles on our bathtub.  And once we did those two thing we HAD to change out the vanity.  It seriously LOOKED awful in there with all the updates. So we got new counter tops and then we painted the cabinets.  The difference is amazing and I love the outcome!  Now to show you :).

Tips on How to Install Tile Flooring in a Bathroom with Ridgemont Silver Tiles

This post contains affiliate links.

This winter has been really, really long.  We have had 10 snows days, 8 of them since the beginning of the year.  We were trapped in our house for several days and I was going crazy.  So I needed something to do.  I've been wanting to redo my master bathroom for awhile now (I love it but it's very dark and not very modern) so I finally convinced my husband to start the process with me (it only took 10 snows day, hahaha!).  This is the first time we have tiled a floor, so we learned along the way.  It was a lot of work but man do I LOVE the outcome!  The difference is night and day in my bathroom and I cannot wait to show you the rest of the bathroom when it's all done!

How to Build a Sofa Side Table For About $15

This post contains affiliate links

A couple months ago I made a fun sofa table for my loft area.  It was my very first piece of furniture that I made all by myself.  When I got done with it I loved how it turned out and wanted to make a little mini version of it to go right by my sectional sofa.  It's wasted space and I thought it would be perfect for a little table.  So one day I had an itch to create something, so I headed to the store and bought so wood and built it that day! :)

How to Build a Shiplap In a Master Bedroom For $100

This post contains affiliate links.

This past weekend we decided to give our master bedroom a face lift and I am so glad that we did.  I think that the master bedroom should feel like a spa/retreat so when you have had a really long day, you can go and relax in it and enjoy the space around you.  Well our master bedroom was far from a retreat.  It looked fine in there but nothing like this.  It only took a couple days to do and cost about $100 (for the wall, not the decor) and I am absolutely in love with it!

Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken- From Frozen to Finished in 30 Minutes

This post contains affiliate links.

I am loving my new Instant Pot!  If you just got one recently, then you should check out my first post about it, I give a VERY detailed tutorial on how to cook frozen chicken in it! Teriyaki chicken is one of our absolute favorite recipes.  It's my oldest son's favorite ever and I think he could eat half of it if I let him :).  I love this recipe because it is easy and I usually have all the ingredients on hand at all times, the only down fall from the old ones was that I would have to thaw out chicken and I suck at remembering to do that in the middle of the day.  Using the Instant Pot I can make it in about 30 minutes and that is with starting with FROZEN chicken!  How awesome is that?!

Quilt and Blanket Ideas {MMM #363 Block Party}

Here in my part of central Washington it's been below freezing for WEEKS...and we've got more snow coming down today.  All I want to do is curl up in a quilt with a mug of hot cocoa until it warms up a little.  So I thought I'd share some quilty inspiration, especially since lots of us are getting back to some of our bigger quilt ambitions since the holidays are over.

Instant Pot Frozen Chicken Made in Less Than 30 Minutes- How to with Major Hand Holding

This post contains affiliate links.

For Christmas this year I bought myself an Instant Pot pressure cooker and let me tell you- I am in LOVE with it!  Seriously this little machine is a major GAME CHANGER!  I love my crock pot but a lot of times I am out and about in the middle of the day, the time when I am supposed to put food into the crock pot and so it just doesn't happen.  Well this little machine does recipes in less than an hour and they are as easy as the crock pot meals!  The thing that I am MOST excited about with this pressure cooker is being able to cook FROZEN chicken in less than 30 minutes (that is start to finish!) because I SUCK at reminding to thaw out chicken and/or buying raw chicken.  I have so many recipes that call for cooked chicken and I love them but I don't so much make them, because I just plan forget to get the chicken ready.  So most likely this is how I will use the Instant Pot most often.
