One of my absolute favorite things to give to my friends and neighbors are these Santa plates with cookie mixes. Not only are they a super cute and fun neighbor gift, they are yummy and gives them an activity to do as a family, who doesn’t love that?! I have done them in a few different designs but this one is my favorite! I just love how it turned out, the glittery vinyl on the plate (and yes it’s washable, by hand) and then the cookie in the reindeer jar! I am excited to give these out this year and then to have some for my family too (because my kids will love it too!).
Chocolate Chip Cookies in a Jar
Ingredients in the jar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 /2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup mini M&Ms
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1 egg slightly beatened
- 1 tsp vanilla
Separate the flour, sugars, baking soda and salt from the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
Soften butter in microwave for 30-40 seconds.
Put flour, sugars, baking soda and salt into mixing bowl. Add butter and mix on low setting.
Add beaten egg. Mix
Add vanilla. Mix
Add M&Ms and chocolate chips and mix thoroughly.
Roll dough up into a ball and add to greased cookie sheet, makes 12 cookies.
Bake for 11-13 minutes at 350 degrees.
These cookies are so good and nice and thick and fluffy (not super flat and crispy, which I don’t like at all!).
Vinyl is so versatile and you can do so many things with it! It especially is great for making gifts (like these Santa cookies!).
