Buffalo Plaid Fall Pillow- Grateful, Thankful and Blessed
Fall is almost here, hooray!!! I seriously just love fall!! Are you ready to bust out the pillows and decor and get all decked out for fall?? I am!! I am thinking any day now my whole house is going to be filled with pumpkins and fall stuff!! This pillow is going to be great with all of my decor.
Here is a video to show you the process of how I made it:
This is how I made it:
I first cut the fabric for the pillow in a black and white buffalo plaid. I cut the front piece to be 18 x 18 inches and then the back two pieces 12 x 18 inches, to make it an envelope for the pillow. I then cut a piece of canvas 13 x 13 inches for the front. Then I used some smooth black heat transfer vinyl for the design.
I cut out the design with my Silhouette CAMEO. Make sure you put the shiny/plastic side down onto the mat and then mirror the image before cutting the design. I then weeded the vinyl. You can get the design here.
Then using a heat press, I put the design onto the canvas. I set the press to 305 degrees and pressed it for 15 seconds. You can also do this with an iron, just make sure you press the iron down firmly and do each section for 10-15 seconds.
I removed the plastic from the vinyl.
I put the canvas onto the center of the 18 x 18 piece of buffalo plaid and then sewed the canvas onto it.
I then took the two pieces for the back and hemmed one edge.
I overlapped the two pieces onto the front pieces, with the right sides facing each other and then sewed the four edges together.
I flipped it right side out.
I added a pillow to it and that’s it! It was super easy to make, it only took about 30 minutes to make.
I love how the design looks with the black and white buffalo plaid pillow.
I added it with my other fall decor and I love how it looks!
