I am in total fall mode and want to decorate for it right now! I went out shopping to pick up a few things and I found this adorable fox blanket from Ross Stores. I knew that my kids would love it and that it would be so fun to have for fall. I wanted have a pillow that matched it and so I made this adorable fox fall pillow. I love it and so do my kids!
Here is a quick to show you the process of how to make this cute fox fall pillow.
This is how I made the fox pillow:
I started with a pillow cover (I got this one from Hobby Lobby) and then some heat transfer vinyl. The colors that I used were: black, white, cardinal, sun yellow, Texas orange, chocolate and yellow.
Using my Silhouette CAMEO, I cut out the design of the fox and leaves. For each color I placed the shiny/plastic side down on the mat and mirror the image. You can get the cut file here:
Before I started pressing the heat transfer, I put all of the pieces together onto the top of the pillow case. It’s nice to see it on the pillow before you start actually adhering it to the pillow with heat.
Using a heat press, I pressed pillow case first and then started putting the design onto the pillow case. I first put on the orange parts of the fox onto the pillow case. I pressed each layer for 15 seconds at 305 degrees. You can also use an iron with the heat transfer vinyl.
I then started to put the other layers onto the fox. Between each layer, I used a heat press cover sheet to protect the design from sticking to the heat press.
Once I finished the fox, I then started working on the leaves. I mad the mistake of putting the leaves too low on the pillow case, I should have put them 1-2 inches higher.
Once I was done pressing it, I then put a pillow inside the case.
And that’s it! I love how it turned out, the fox pillow is so cute!
It goes great with my fox blanket and it will be fun to have all season long.
Here is a close up of the fox fall pillow, as you can see the heat transfer vinyl looks amazing on the fabric and layers nicely!
