Gradation Party Idea- Graduation Picture Frames with K-12 Grades Photos
I know it may seem crazy for me to be posting graduation party ideas at the end of May, but our school doesn’t get out until mid June and graduation doesn’t happen until the second weekend of June. So actually, I am ahead :). It’s crazy that we aren’t out yet because the majority of the country is on summer break already. Anyways, time to get back to this awesome graduation party idea. These graduation pictures frames with all of the grade school photos is a great idea for a graduation party. They show off our much the graduate has grown.
If you are new to xTool or laser cutters, check out my beginner’s guide to xTool.
This is how I made these graduations picture frames from grade school pictures.
The first thing I did was uploaded the cut file in XCS. I did that by clicking the image button and then clicking the grade school picture frames SVG file. I resized all of the grade school frames to be 5.5 inches wide, to fit a 5×7 picture. I then highlighted all of the frames and clicked the cut button (that will turn the lines purple). Then I got ready to cut the frames out, I used the 3mm basswood plywood setting for the cut settings.
You can get the grade school picture frames here:
I used 12×12 basswood plywood for these graduation picture frames. I could fit two frames per sheet, so I used 6.5 sheets of plywood for the whole graduation banner. I used the air assist attachment to help with the scorch marks.
Here are all of the grade school frames all cut out! The xTool does so good cutting out all the details.
I then painted all of the graduation picture frames with a navy spray paint. I also printed out all of his grade school pictures, I printed in size 5×7.
To put the picture in, I just taped it to the back of the picture frame.
I wanted the picture frames to look like a graduation banner, so I used a ribbon to connect them. I didn’t glue them onto the ribbon, I just had the ribbon behind them.
I put the ribbon onto my wall using command strips and then I also put the grade school frames on the wall using the command strips.
And that’s it! Super easy to make!
I added some 2023 balloons and this epic graduation sign that I made for my son.
I love how the graduation picture frames turned out!
I love looking at all of his grade school pictures! He has grown up a ton through out all of the years.
Now we are all ready for his graduation party, now he just needs to graduate :).
I made a few other graduation graduations for his party. This decoration, I cut out the Congrats Grad design out of the 3mm plywood and painted it navy. I then glued it to a stick and then put the stick into a cluster of balloons. I then glued on some twinkle lights to the whole thing.
I also made a door hanging for my outside door, to let people know where the party was. This graduation wreath is made out of a hula hoop from the Dollar Tree. I wrapped the hula hoop with graduation garland and then glued a white sign across it. I then used the left over 2023 wood pieces from the 2023 sign I made my son and added a little graduation cap. I even wrapped twinkle lights around the wreath to make it shin at night.
