Have you noticed that I like skirts? Well I do, they are easy to make and it’s fun to have something new. I’ve decided that I’m going to wear more skirts this spring and summer. I wore this one to park….. there’s not many places I go, I could have worn it to the grocery store. Anyway, guess what I made this skirt out of……
A shirt!! I bought this shirt at a garage sale for $.25 when I was pregnant. It’s a big, stretchy shirt. I mostly bought it because I loved the color and the stretchy fabric.
I just cut the skirt out of the middle, sewed up the sides, added some ruffles and elastic and just like that, it’s done! (Should have ironed it…)
The ruffles are several 1″ strips (from the sleeves) sewn together to make one long strip.
And I love it! It’s light weight for hot days and stretchy enough that I can do all the mom things in the day.

I love that you're so inventive! I'd never think of making a skirt out of a shirt but it works so well!
I also love that your toenails are blue to match 🙂

Very nice skirt. I too want to wear more skirts and dresses this summer. Love the detail on the bottom.
