Ikea Expedit Shelf in my craft room!

September 5, 2012 by Kaysi 10 Comments

For the first time in my life, I actually have a craft room!  And it is just a craft room, I don’t have to share it with the guest bed or with the washer and dryer!  I can’t tell you how excited I am about this. I finally have a room that I can just decorate super girly, with lots of ruffles and flowers!  I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of stuff, so I decided that I’m going to be super organized with my craft room.  So I deiced to go to Ikea in Draper before I left Utah and get lot of things to help me stay organized.  The Ikea Expedit shelf seemed like the perfect thing to keep me organized.

Here is my craft room before I started working on it.  It’s so boring and sad.  The walls were a very light yellow.

This is what I have done so far.  I’m still not done with it (because I have a lot of stuff).  But I just had to share with you this awesome shelf and desk.  I cannot wait to fill it up with my craft supplies!

Isn’t it so cool!  It’s called the Expedit shelf and desk.  The main reason why I picked this shelf was because the square holes are big enough to fit my 12×12 scrapbooks and paper!  Not many bookshelves are deep enough (or high enough) to fit my scrapbooks.

Notice the grey on the walls?  Much better than the light yellow.  Go to this post to see more details about the paint I used.  And go check out Ikea and see what fun things you can use to help organize your craft room. Here is a sample of my craft room- check out all the details here.

Disclosure: I was given this shelf and desk to review.  I got it because it’s awesome!  All content and opinions are 100% my own.

The wall in my sewing studio is dominated by an expedit shelf too.

I have NEVER been to an Ikea. I really need to find one and go. Love the shelves, and the wall color!

I would give just about anything to have my own craft room, so I am so happy for you that you are finally getting one of your own! The desk and shelves look lovely and I can't wait to see the whole room finishes. ENJOY IT!

I would like to know when you go to the ikea web site, what is the line called to use in your craft room? I am in Canada.
