Light Switch DAD Frame

June 12, 2013 by Kaysi 16 Comments

Father’s Day is this Sunday!!  Not sure how that happened.  Do you need a quick and easy idea for the man in your life?  Here is a great one that I made my for my husband this year.
Light Switch DAD frame
This is how I made the frame:
You’ll need some light switches and book rings and then some fun vinyl to decorate them with.

With some scissors, I cut out the middle piece.

Then I used Expressions Vinyl’s yummy patterned vinyl.  Love all the different colors!

I traced the light switch onto the back of the vinyl.

Then I cut it out with scissors.  Make sure to cut the vinyl a little bigger than what you traced, so you can wrap it around the edges.

For the middle one, I took the fun polka dot vinyl and cut it into strips that were around 1/2″ wide.  Then I placed them onto the switch at a diagonal.

Once they were all covered with vinyl, I poked through the holes and added the book rings.

I added a few embellishments.

For the pictures, I cut out a D and A out of cardboard.  Then I took some pictures of my kids.  Aren’t they adorable?  I love how these turned out!  Surprisingly they actually cooperated and I didn’t have to take over 100 pictures.
DAD
I made them all black and white and then printed them off and put them in the back of the frame.

And that’s it!  They are so fun!

I can’t wait for my husband to put it on his office desk!

I would love it if you followed along.

I would NEVER have thought to use light switch covers as frames. You've changed how I look at them, LOL. Love it.
