Super Easy 4th of July Treat Idea: Flag Rice Krispies Treats

June 11, 2015 by Kaysi 1 Comment

I love to create fun treats for the various holidays, but I’m not going to lie to you, decorating cookies and baking are NOT my specialty.  I am not good at it.  I’ve seen all of those cookies videos and I know that if I attempted them it would look like a 4 year old did it.  So instead of a super fancy and complicated treat, I would make one that ANYONE can make, even a 4 year old.  They are so easy to make, taste amazing and are perfect for the 4th of July.  You can make your own Rice Krispies or use the store bought ones.

Here is little video for you to see how easy they are to make.  You don’t need anything special to make them, I just used colored candy melts and sandwich bags.  I heated up the candy melts directly in the sandwich bag and put them into the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes (in 30 second increments) until all the candies are melted.  And then I cut off the tip of the sandwich bag.

You can add a paper straw to make them look more like flags, or you can leave them out.  Either way they are fun :).
