Of all of the food groups, dairy is by far my favorite. I love it and would have a hard time going without it. If you were to ask me what my favorite drink is, I would say chocolate milk. When I was a toddler, the only thing that I would drink out of a bottle was chocolate milk. I am also obsessed with cheese, yogurt and ice cream. We always have it in our house and go through it like crazy. At least I am going to have some strong bones :).
My kids are also big fans of dairy. They like it just as much as I do. I wanted to come up with fun way to eat our yogurt this summer. So I made some frozen smoothie pops and they were a huge hit! They couldn’t get enough. I love that it was a treat that was super healthy for them too!
I got all of my supplies at Safeway. Right now they are having a sale that you can save $5 when you buy $15. So I picked up some Fage yogurt, Magnum ice cream bars and Sargento cheese. For my whole shopping trip, check out my Goolge+ album here.
This is what you’ll need:
1 tub of Fage Greek Yogurt
Frozen or fresh fruits
1 to 1 1/2 cup milk (depending on how thick you want it)
ice cube trays
I blended all the ingredients in my blender and then spooned the smoothie into ice cube trays.
I stuck the ice cube trays into the freezer. After about an hour I stuck some Popsicle sticks into them.
I put the bottom of the ice cube trays in warm water to get the pops out. That’s it! Super easy, super yummy and super healthy! The Fage yogurt is fat free and has more protein, making it super healthy.
Another thing that I love is ice cream. Too bad it doesn’t love me back :). These ice cream bars from Magnum are amazing! Seriously so good. I love to have a special treat just for me (these are too good to share with my kids). When my kids are a little crazy, I like to escape and enjoy a little ice cream break. These were just perfect for just that.
If you knew me in high school, you would know that I love cheese too. Every time I would sign my name, I would draw a picture of cheese and a monkey. My senior quote was “Cheese and Monkeys!” I was a little crazy back then. Whenever a recipe calls for cheese, I always add a little extra :).
Do you love dairy too? I love to get my #EverydayDairy! Yum!

Those frozen pops look so fun! I'm slightly addicted to dairy myself.
