Cookie Sheet Chalkboard Game Board

September 13, 2013 by Kaysi 6 Comments

I love to play games.  I especially love playing games with my kids.  They are now getting to be a little older so we can play more and more games.  One my of favorite games to play is Pictionary (even though I am horrible at drawing).  I wanted to play it for family night one week and I realized that we didn’t have anything to draw on except paper.  So I came up with a chalkboard that would be perfect for some games.

This is how I made it:
I used an old cookie sheet (I really wanted to replace it with a new one).  Chalkboard, green herringbone, black and white vinyl.

I spray painted the cookie sheet and then added the chalkboard vinyl.  I just cut it with my scissors and rounded up the edges.

Then using a Cricut, I cut out Team 1 and Team 2 out of white vinyl.  I used their chalkboard fonts cartridge.

Then with black vinyl, I cut out everyone’s names.  I placed the names onto the herringbone vinyl then with a circle punch, cut it out. Then I placed the vinyl on some white card stock for some more stability, punched it out and then glued it onto a magnet with hot glue.

And that’s it!  Super easy! The chalkboard markers from Expressions Vinyl are awesome for this too!

You can play lots of different games.  We are going to play Hangman.

And of course Pictionary.  Can you guess what I was drawing?  🙂

I absolutely love the chalkboard vinyl, come check out more projects that I have made with it.

I would love it if you followed along.

That is way fun! I actually bought some chalkboard vinyl at Swiss Days last year but never did anything with it. This is a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing!

I have never seen chalkboard vinyl, obviously I have been out of the loop. How cool. I love the idea of using an old cookie sheet.
