Pumpkin Pillow

September 25, 2012 by Kaysi 21 Comments

By now I think you all know that I love making pillow covers for holidays.  They are so easy to make, change out and store!  Please it’s fun to be able to change up my décor.  I went through my stash of fabric and found some awesome orange fabric, so I made a pillow with pumpkins and I love how it turned out!

This is how I made it:
I got all of my fabric and then some fabric interfacing from Silhouette.

I cut the fabric to the size that I needed and then ironed it onto the interfacing.  Make sure to iron it onto the rough side.

I took off the back paper of the interfacing and let my CAMEO do it’s magic and cut the fabric.  I used settings33 and blade 3.  You could easily cut these shapes by hand, especially if you just did circles and ovals for the pumpkins.

And here they are all cut out.

I ironed them onto the some white fabric.

Then I did a zig zag stitch all around the pumpkin, just for some added cuteness.

Now they are all sewn onto the front of the pillow.

Since I made this a cover, I cut two pieces for the back of the pillow.  They overlap, so the two of them combined needs to be about 6” longer than the front piece.  I then hemmed one edge.

I placed the two back pieces onto the front and pinned it.

I sewed all four sides and then flipped it inside out.

I stuffed one of my throw pillows into it and now I have a fun pillow for Halloween and fall!pumpkin pillow (12)
I think the chevron pumpkins are my favorite Smile

Fantastic job. So simple and sweet. My weekly linky party–One Creative Weekend–has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit "One Creative Weekend" on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.)
