In my son’s kindergarten classroom, they have a little sand table. One day all my boys were in there playing with it. They all loved it, so I decided that I wanted to make one for my boys.
It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but it works great for them!
This is how I made it:
1) I took an end table. I found this one at a garage sale for $3. Then I took a long plastic container. I actually had this one under my bed holding two scrapbooks and a frame.
2) I drilled a hole in the container and the table.
3) I then used long bolts, washers and nuts to secure the container onto the table.
4) I filled it with colored sand (we got ours at Walmart) and toys.
And just like that, the boys can play for hours!
When they’re done, we can put the lid on it and put it away
The table only cost me about $5, too bad the toys and sand cost more :). It really only took 10 minutes to make. Totally worth it for the countless hours of play!

My kids love to play in the sand. This is even better because they can't sit in it. Thank you!

Love this! And the fact that you made it out of stuff that you had and was cheap instead of having to go buy a bunch of new stuff to build it!
