My little girl is now in preschool and she is obsessed with play dough. She would play with it everyday if I let her. Since this is her first year of giving valentines to her classmates, I thought it would be great to give them something that she loves. So I came up with this idea. I made up the play dough. I use this recipe all the time and it’s amazing! I love it so much more than store bought play dough.
This is what you’ll need:
2 cups flour
1 cup salt (this is a lot of salt, so you will probably need to buy some)
2 tbsp oil
4 tsp cream of tater
2 cups water
food coloring
1) Put all of the ingredients into a pan and stir.
2) Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes. Stir constantly.
3) Remove from heat and work with it until it’s all smooth. If you have dry and chapped hands, make sure to put lotion on before kneading it. The salt stings. Also, it’s a little warm when it comes off the stove top.
For the valentine, I printed out the free printable onto to card stock and then cut them out. Then I rolled out the dough and cut out a heart shape.
I put the heart into a bag. I folded the bag over itself a couple of times to make sure no air gets in and dries up the play dough. Then I stapled the bag shut. I then folded the paper in half and put it over the bag and taped it together.
And that’s it! Aren’t they so much fun.
I love how they turned out and I think that the kids will like them. I think I am going to put a little note on the back telling them that it’s play dough and not a cookie :).
I would love it if you followed along.
