Laundry Room Reveal

March 12, 2013 by Kaysi 25 Comments

I have never decorated my laundry room before.  I never really cared too.  My past two houses, they were out of the way and no one saw them.  Plus I mostly just used them for storage.  Well in this house, the laundry room is right off of the kitchen and it gets a ton of use.  It’s pretty big, so I decided that I could use it as a second pantry and storage area, so I don’t clutter up my kitchen.  I love how it turned out and I can’t wait to show you it!
Here it is!  It’s not the biggest room so I had to make due with what space I had.

We built a table from a door for over the washer and dryer.  I put some little containers on them to help me stay organized.  A little garbage for the lent and dryer sheets, a little tip jar for the money I find and some baskets for the detergent and dryer sheets, so I don’t have to reach into the cabinet all the time (my belly hits the table every time).

And some extra shelves for storage.  I have problems with lost socks, so I made separate buckets so at least I can separate them and it doesn’t take nearly as long.

We got these awesome shelves for our food storage.  I absolutely love them!

I have been wanting a table like this for two years and I love it!  I have also wanted to put vinyl on my washer and dryer for a long time, I love the look of it!

I needed some more color for my room, so I used my Cricut and cut vinyl.  laundryroom1
These shelves have been so nice to help me get organized.  I found some cute baskets and filled them with flashlights and tools (things that we keep in our laundry room).  And of course the lost socks buckets.

My room desperately needed a change.  Here is the before and after pictures.  Sadly, the before picture is even after I had cleaned it up a little bit to put the shelves in.  It was much worse than this.  Right now it does have dirty clothes in there… laundry is one of those chores that it’s hard to keep up on Smile.

I would love it if you followed along.

I love it! Especially what you did with the washer & Dryer machines and the shelves. The table above them, Did you make it?, I'd really love to have something like that. It looks so great and it makes easy to fold and organize the laundry. Someday I'm gonna show you mine is so… so… You'll see Hahahaha! Thanks for sharing.

    See ya!

Looks great! I love the bright colors and the seperated lost socks bins. Right now I throw all lost socks in a shopping bag. Not the most efficient method! Lol! Great work?!

It looks fantastic! The table above the washer/dryer is fantastic for folding and sorting… great pantry area too–well done! (And the happy floral additions to the appliances are fabulous!)

Wow! That's a huge laundry room compared to my sad laundry area… I love the table over the washer and dryer, and the storage!

Don't throw your lint away. It can be recycled. Balls of lint with a little petroleum jelly worked into it make excellent fire starters.
I had to laugh at the first picture before the counter was built. We have top loading washers and I have to clean all that stuff of the washer/dryer when I do the laundry every week. Our main entryway is through the laundry room so all kinda of stuff gets dropped off on them. Maybe it's a good thing we don't have front loaders or else we would have a shelf that would never get cleaned off. LOL

Laundry is the bane of my existence. I've been working on it since Wednesday and still not done! I love your laundry room, the bright pops of color you added are wonderful and really make the room cheery. I'm totally jealous of your food storage! Augh! I need that.

So cute, I love how you decorated the machines with cricut, what a great idea! It's hard when a work space is front and center. I just spiffed up my laundry room do and I smile every time I walk in there!

I've recently organized my laundry room (it's not pretty, but functional) and it's amazing how much easier it is to get everything done! I really like the vinyl on your machines! Someday, maybe I'll get to do the same. Well done!
