My oldest son is obsessed with outer space right now. His favorite planet is Saturn and so I wanted to make a Valentine that involved space. Here is what I came up with.
This is how I made it:
I took some foil and then painted it brown.
I cut out a piece of foil and then wrapped a sucker with it.
Then with some wire, I made the rings. I left some wire at the ends to wrap about the stick of the sucker.
Here it is with the wire. I love that shadow actually looks like Saturn!!
I made a little card to go with it. You can get a free printable here.
I also thought it would be cute to make a sucker into an alien, so I did the same this with the foil but painted it green. Then drew the face on with a Sharpie.
And that’s it! Perfect for my space loving son!

Oh those are adorable! pinning :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute Kaysi! Way to go!
ReplyDeleteYou put so much effort into these things - they look good and such a clever way to incorportate his interests.
ReplyDeleteI have never done anything with Valentines day. Is it a dig deal in USA? When I was a kid I never even heard of it and then as I got older only heard of it for those dating etc. even now it is more a marketing thing than anything else really.
These are just so clever--I need to make a bunch of them for grandkids.
DeleteBTW I really like this profile picture. Is this a self-portrait?
