For my son’s 10th birthday we had a big party all about natural disasters. It was so much fun and it was full of experiments. You can see the details here. One of the experiments that we did was the classic baking soda and vinegar. I know it’s an oldie but it’s awesome!!!! Because I wanted it to look like a volcano, I made a fun foam volcano that was super easy to make. Plus really looks like volcano, so it was a win-win. This would make great for a school science fair.
This is how I made it:
I took a 2-liter bottle and then cut some card board and glued it around the 2 liter bottle. I glued it all onto a foam board.
Then I used the foam in a can spray and put it all over the card board.
Here is what it looks like completely covered.
I let it dry over night.
Then I painted it. I used a lot of different browns, grays and white. I was just mixing colors as I was going.

And this is what the top looks like. Pretty cool huh?
I put the vinegar into the 2 liter bottle (I dyed it red) and then we put the baking soda into the hole.

Looks like the kids had a great time with this volcano. Never thought to make one with spray foam, creates a nice effect.
