Instant Pot Teriyaki Chicken- From Frozen to Finished in 30 Minutes

I am loving my new Instant Pot!  If you just got one recently, then you should check out my first post about it, I give a VERY detailed tutorial on how to cook frozen chicken in it! Teriyaki chicken is one of our absolute favorite recipes.  It's my oldest son's favorite ever and I think he could eat half of it if I let him :).  I love this recipe because it is easy and I usually have all the ingredients on hand at all times, the only down fall from the old ones was that I would have to thaw out chicken and I suck at remembering to do that in the middle of the day.  Using the Instant Pot I can make it in about 30 minutes and that is with starting with FROZEN chicken!  How awesome is that?!  


This is what you'll need for the teriyaki chicken
1-2 pounds of chicken breast
1/4-1/2 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water (this is optional, especially when using frozen chicken)
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp minced garlic


Put all the ingredients into the Instant Pot and then close and seal the lid and move the handle to "sealing".
Push the poultry button and then set the time to 15 minutes. 


It takes about 5-15 to pressurize and build up steam and then 15 minutes to cook.  But this is what it looks like when it's done, it's so awesome!
And that's it! I shredded the chicken and then added the sauce back to it. 

Serve over rice and enjoy!  


I added some sesame seeds to it and a little more soy sauce, but it tasted amazing!  This is going to be on my menu almost every week I think :).
