The weather is starting to get warmer and spring is coming! I love this time of the year, things are changing, new animals are born and spirits seem to be lifted. One thing that I don’t like about the change of the season is the allergies that come with it. I never had allergies until I came to Nebraska and lived in the country. The worst time for me is when they cut hay, only 2 miles away from my house. This year I am going to be ready for allergy season, I made some survival kits for me and for my 5 year old son (his allergies are even worse than mine).
I went to Walgreens to get all the things that I needed for the allergy survival kits. I love the size of Walgreens, I love that I can go in and get all the things that I need and be out of there in 10 minutes. I also love that things are labeled clearly and that I don’t have to go to the other side of the store to find other medicines. In the month of March, the #WellAtWalgreens are buy one get one 50% off. Another great reason to shop at Walgreens is that they have a Way to Well Commitment. From February 1, 2011 to December 31, 2014, for every Walgreens wellness brand that is purchased, they will donate $.01 to help support local wellness services. Awesome, huh?
Here is all the great stuff that I got from Walgreens. I even got the little pouches there, they were on clearance too :).
Here is what I put in my survival kit:
Wal-Zyr allergy medicine
Nasal spray
Chapstick
Kleenex
Mascara and mirror
When my allergies hit, I immediately have a stuffed up nose and watery eyes. So I got things to help me with that. Of course the medicine, but also the nasal spray to help with immediate breathing. Chapstick because my lips become super dry because I have to breath through my mouth. And then some mascara and mirror to touch up my makeup because I rub my eyes non stop.
And here is my son’s allergy kit:
Wal-Dryl chewable tablets
Chapstick
Kleenex
Hydrocortisone
These tablets are amazing! They are so easy to give to my son when his allergies are acting up. They are so much nicer than the liquid. Along with his allergies, he has eczema and it always flares up when his allergies are bad, so I put in some hydrocortisone to help with that.
Now that I have them in a little pouch, I can just throw them in the diaper bag and when we are out and about we don’t have to be stopped by our allergies!
