Since my husband checks this blog everyday, I couldn’t put something that I made for him on it. 🙂 I made him one of these a couple of years ago, so I decided to make it for a lady that I visit teach. It’s super easy to make and you can reuse all of your cans, as long as you remember to open them all from the bottom.
Here is how you make it
1)First you will need a can with a pull tab on the top and a can opener that opens from the side, not that opens from the top. I used a fruit can because the bottom of the can looks like a normal can. The bottom of a soup can is shaped differently, so you can’t use those.
2)Open the bottom of the can. Peel off label and wash completely
3)Decorate the can how ever you would like and fill with candy. You can fill it completely (I just ran out of candy…)
4)Using Glossy Accents (I got it from Hobby Lobby) or Crystal Effects (from Stampin’ Up!) put a layer of “glue” all around the edge.
I think that you could use a hot glue gun or another kind of adhesive, I just haven’t before.
5)Put the bottom back onto the can and press down. I put a can of tomato soup on it and left it there for 30 minutes.
And just like that you have a can filled with candy. It’s always a shock when someone opens up the can and finds candy! Candy is always a pleasant surprise 🙂
