Apple Pie Roll Ups

September 17, 2013 by Kaysi 8 Comments

It’s apple season!!  So this week I’m going to be sharing some yummy apple recipes.  This first one is super delicious!  A friend shared it with me and I just had to share it with you guys.  It’s so easy and you’re going to love it, especially if you don’t want to bake a whole pie.  I love that this one you can easily double the batch and make two pans without increasing the time to make at all.

Here is how you make them.

You can make this with regular apple pie filling, or you could do it with the caramel apple filling, make the sauce and then drizzle some caramel over it.  That’s what I am going to do next time I make it, yum!  Don’t love the idea of tortillas, then you could use crescents or pastry dough!

This is what you will need for the apple pie rolls up.

Apple Pie Roll Ups

A little twist on traditional apple pie, super easy and super yummy!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Servings 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Cans Apple pie filling
  • 1 Package Tortillas
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Water For thicker sauce, add less water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Step 1:   Spoon apple filling into tortillas and then roll up and place in 9×13 dish.

  2. Step 2: In a saucepan, add all ingredients for the sauce and then bring to a boil. Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Step 3: Pour sauce over tortillas and then let sit for 45 minutes to an hour, to thicken sauce.

  4. Step 4:  Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

If you want bigger roll ups, use bigger tortillas.  If you have more mouths to feed, then I would use the smaller ones.  Plus when you eat two of them you won’t feel too bad ;).

Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream or just by itself, either way, it’s delicious!
