Life has been busy lately and it doesn’t seem to be calming down anytime soon, so I decided that it was time to take some time to just “smell the roses” :). I love having some fresh flowers in my house. There is just something about it. It’s so fun to look at them and to smell them. They just brighten up any room. I needed a fun vase to put the flowers in and I haven’t done a kids craft with my kids in awhile, so I thought it would be fun to have them make one. It seems like they like to paint, glue and cut things. So I combined those and came up with this idea. They had a blast and I love how they turned out. I love just letting the kids create and me sitting back.
This is how we made them:
We took some vases, streamers and mod podge. Tissue paper would work great too.
The kids painted on a layer of mod podge onto the glass.
Then they put the streamers over it. I let them cut the streamers and then wrap it around the vase. It was nice and easy but also very fun!
Here are the 4 designs that we did. Aren’t they fun? My kids were very proud of their pumpkins.
And that’s it! Super easy, super fun and I love how the flowers look on my kitchen table!
I used the other ones for candle holders. I put a little battery tea light and let them flicker on my mantle.
You could also do this with mason jars or with a fun cup.
