Back to school is happening soon (or has already happened for some people). It is crazy how quickly time goes! I’m pretty excited for some routine and structure but at the same time, not so excited for routine and structure :). Sometimes it’s fun to not have a schedule and just go with the flow of things. When school is in session, one thing that is always on my mind is school lunches (that and afternoon snacks). I’m always trying to come up with some yummy things for my kids to eat. I like to give them some variety so they aren’t eating the exact same thing every day. That’s why I love Quaker because they have a great variety that I know my kids will love! I also love to send them cute lunch notes to make their day fun :).
I headed to Walmart to pick up some Quaker products. Right when I walked in I saw these value pack of granola bars by the check out. I picked up a couple boxes because these granola bars are so great to have on hand. They were a life saver for us when we went to California on vacation, we had them in the stroller and it gave us the energy we needed to walk over the Golden Gate Bridge :).
We love Quaker at our house, from their cold cereals to their hot cereals. And of course their granola bars :).
I wanted to make my kids a fun treat for their lunches, so I whipped up some Cap’n Crunch bars. They are super easy to make.
This is what you’ll need:
3 cups Cap’n Crunch cereal
1/2 package of marshmallows
2 Tbsp butter
1) Melt the marshmallows and butter into the microwave. Cook for 30 seconds and stir. Then cook for another 15 seconds.
2) Add the cereal to the marshmallows and stir.
3) Put into a casserole dish and let cool.
Cut into squares and enjoy!!! These will be perfect for an afternoon snack too!
I made 12 different jokes to go with their lunches. Some of them were ones that I have known for awhile and some of them are Kaysi originals…. nice and cheesy, just the way I like my jokes :). All you have to do is print out the printable from here.
Cut them out and put it into your kids’ lunch. It goes perfectly with the granola bars and the Cap’n Crunch bars! I’m sure that they will put a smile on your kids’ face :).
I always end up running out of snacks for the kids' lunches by the end of the week. If we can buy value packs, we do… for everything. My kids go through so many Chewy Bars it's crazy. #client
