Every Sunday for dinner we do a family movie night and have a very low key dinner (like chips, salsa and nacho cheese). We all gather around our family room, put down a table cloth and eat picnic style while watching the movie. It’s so much fun and the kids get really excited about it each week. This past Sunday they were especially excited about our family movie night because we got to watch the new Minions movie. To make it even more fun I made up an amazing and easy banana cream pudding and put them into fun minion jars for the kids to eat while we watched the movie (after dinner of course).
This is what you’ll need for the banana cream pudding
1 package banana pudding
2 cups milk
1 tub whip cream
1-2 bananas, diced
1-2 packages of graham crackers, crushed
Vanilla wafers
Butter (melted)
1) Combine the milk and pudding and stir together.
2) Thaw the whip cream and then stir into pudding. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
3) Crush the graham crackers and melt the butter. For each jar I used 1 TBSP of butter, so altogether I melted 6 TBSP because I made up 6 jars.
4) Add the graham crackers and butter to the jar and mix them together. Then pack them together with a spoon to make the a crust.
5) Add the pudding, vanilla wafers and bananas I put them in this order: pudding, wafers, bananas, and then more pudding.
6) Add some whip cream and a vanilla wafer.
And that’s it! Sit back and enjoy your sweet treat!
Now if you want to make the banana pudding even more fun, then you can make some minion jars. This is how I made them:
I put some painters tape on the bottom of a jar.
Then I spray painted the jar yellow.
I took off the tape and let it dry completely. Then I put on some more painters tape (onto the yellow part) and painted the bottom part blue. Then I decorated the jars with some eyes, pipe cleaners and a black marker.
I glued everything on with a glue gun and then drew a fun face and hair.
Because of the paint on the outside of the jar, I put the lids onto jars before putting the pudding into it, so the food wouldn’t touch the painted areas. And that’s it for them! Aren’t they so cute?!?! My kids had a blast eating their banana cream pudding out of them.
We had the kids eat out of the minion jars and the adults got the little truffle dishes. Both of them were amazing and so fun to eat as we watched the movie!

Illumination Entertainment did a great job with this movie, it’s so funny and the kids loved it! They were laughing non stop during it, it was so fun to watch them
And just for fun, here is a fun little video of the minions eating a banana!

Those jars are so cute! I love the idea of making a dessert to put inside to enjoy during a Minions movie night! #client
