Have you ever had one of your kids come up to you and tell you about a birthday party that is the next day or in a couple hours?  And immediately you start to scramble and think about what you are going to do for a present.  What kid doesn’t like a card with money in it, right?
This has happened to me before. I like to have some birthday cards on hand, just for this kind of things.  Luckily Hallmark has some great birthday #ValueCards that are only $.47 and $.97 at Walmart so it’s easy to get stocked up and not break the bank.  Of course I can’t just have birthday cards and not have something cute to put them in and organize them.  So I made a box to put them the cards into.

I headed to Walmart to get some fun birthday cards.  They were located in the middle of the store, by the other birthday items.  I got several so I would be good for most of the year.  I was very impressed with the selection, they were lots of fun ones and even funny ones.  Did you know that Hallmark has a rewards program too?  For every 5 cards you buy, you get a reward.  The best part is that it doesn’t matter where you buy them.  You can buy them at lots of different stores, including Walmart and still get the rewards.

Here are some of the cards that I got.  I love that they come with fun colored envelopes too because some times it is hard to find an envelope that fits, especially for the bigger cards.

To decorate the box, I cut out some words with vinyl and then got some spring colored scrapbook paper.

I put the vinyl on the box and then made some tabs for the paper.

I put the paper in the box and then put the cards in.  It was super easy to make and I love how it looks and that they are now organized!

Here are a few of my favorite cards that I got.  I even got a couple other then birthday cards, to have on hand.  I like to give them to friends when they need a pick me up :).
