Florida. Florida is a topic that comes up in our house all the time. Seriously we talk about Florida every single day. It is a very hot topic right now because my husband goes to Florida a for business trips. He is actually going down to Florida in two weeks for a finance training. Lucky him he gets to go enjoy the weather and see the Atlantic Ocean beaches and enjoy some time away from Nebraska. Too bad he will be working for the majority of the time.
Another reason for talk about Florida is that my husband’s company actually just purchased a big ranch on the other side of the state. It is on the Gulf of Mexico in Northern Florida. It’s in the side of the state that doesn’t have as much of the hustle and bustle. It’s a place to go and relax and just enjoy the beauty of Florida. To me that sounds wonderful! After living in the country for almost two years where there aren’t many people and there is just wide open spaces, when we go on vacations to places in big cities it is overwhelming! If the town has a stop light, it’s considered a decent sized town to me. When we go on family vacation, I like to go places that we can do things together as a family. Be outside and go on adventures and not have to deal with rush hour traffic or waiting in line to do things. That is why Gulf County Florida sounds amazing to me.
Gulf County is also on the Gulf of Mexico. It has miles of shorelines (you can’t go to Florida without going to the beach), it has beautiful wildlife and in the whole county only has two stoplights. The beaches are perfect for your family, including pets. They are ranked in the top ten to bring your pets to. It’s a place to unwind, unplug and just relax and bond as a family. I love those kinds of vacations. I like to be able to relax and not feel like I need a vacation after I get home from vacation.
I love wildlife and seeing the animals in the wild. At Indian Pass there is a wildlife refuge on St. Vincent Island. It has hiking and walking trails, and 9 miles of beaches. Doesn’t that just sounds amazing! I would love to check that out because my family just loves to hike. I have four boys, of course we like to hike. Plus at Indian Pass there are great places to camp and fish. I enjoy camping, but don’t love the cold nights, so camping in Florida sounds great!
When I think about Gulf County I just imagine one of those vacations that you make lots of memories. I imagine lots of fun family time and bonding. I also could see my family just enjoying the piece and quiet. An escape from the real world and the distractions that it brings.
