Some of my all time favorite things in the whole world are popsicles and slushy drinks. I seriously LOVE them!! When I was in high school my Calc teacher had popsicles in our class room and he nick named me the popsicle queen (because I was always eating them). I still love them, but I don’t love all the sugar and calories that come with them. I don’t want to eat that much sugar and I don’t want to feed my kids that much. So I came up with a few low calorie summer treats that you still have lots of flavor but not as many calories #FlavorForLess. It’s nice that we still can enjoy the popsicles and slushy drinks and still be healthier.

As a parent sometimes I forget how much sugar are in sugary drinks and just let my kids drink them. I love that now there are options that are still super yummy but barely any calories. I got several of the 2 liter bottles of pop that only had ten calories. I made a root beer float popsicle with A&W TEN and light ice cream.
I mixed up the ice cream and root beer. I did 2:1 ratio, root beer to ice cream. I used two cups of root beer and 1 cup of ice cream.
I then put the mixture into popsicle forms and put it into the freezer. After 30 minutes I put the sticks into it, so they would stand up.
I let them freeze for a couple hours and then ran the forms under hot water and pulled them out.
I then let my kids enjoy them! It was a fun treat and only 50 calories!
Using the Sunkist TEN, I did the exact same thing and made orange creamsicles.
The last treat that I made was my favorite because I love slush drinks and it only has 10 calories, woot woot!

I just added 3 cups of the 7-Up TEN and 1 packet of Crystal Light to the blender. I then put in half of the blender of ice.
I got all of the 2 liters of the pop at Safeway and it was only $.79, score! From 5-12 through 5-19 there is a digital coupon on the Just for U site and you can get a free 2 liter of any of their flavors (while supplies last) and then you can try out any of these yummy recipes.
oh that crystal light and 7up looks amazing!! Yummy! What a fun post! EMily
I just bought popsicle freezer thingies (highly technical term there!) this weekend. Great timing on this post for me!
