I made this welcome sign using just normal wooden blocks and then painted them. When I finished up the painting, I felt like they needed a little something. So I went to my craft room and went through the tons of things that I have for scrapbooking. I have a circle rug in my entry way, so I wanted to keep with that theme. I had a bunch of metal circle tags that I never used for my scrapbooks. Then I found some buttons that looked good. I didn’t have any brown ones, so I just painted the buttons.
I just removed the paper in the center of the metal tag and glued it onto the letter along with the button.
As I was putting it up, I tried to measure the letters and have it centered in between the door. Well I missed calculated and it wasn’t centered. So I had to think of something else to do. I went through my supplies and found that I had a vinyl decor element that I had gotten free. It was the perfect color and shape. I then just punched out a circle of paper and put a circle bubble over it to make it pop out. I think that the mistake actually turned out to be one of the best parts of the sign!

Very cute! I totally snagged the circle idea and used it on letters I painted for the kids bathroom. (http://www.theshadesofpink.com/2010/01/room-month-makeover-bathroom-with-bonus.html) Come by and check it out.
